How to Shut Down the Lies Your Mind Tells You | Sadie Robertson Huff & Carly Patterson

Sadie has a heart-to-heart with gold medal winning Olympic gymnast Carly Patterson about motherhood, fitting into new seasons of life, and using fear to fuel your dreams. Carly reveals what inspired her journey from beginning gymnastics as a little girl to competing internationally within a few short years. Sadie discovers that she and Carly have a surprising and touching connection, and Carly gives a moving testimony to her commitment to her family and future as a mentor of young gymnasts. Remember, voices will lie to you all day long, but you the voice of the Lord can quiet the lies of the enemy!

There is 0% doubt in my mind that God was directing all those events at 6 YEARS OLD! That's really really awesome!

One thing I did to help my prayer journey, was to write my prayers down. I started doing this about 2 years ago and when I look back now at those prayer journals, I see so many things that God has blessed me with. So many things he answered! While I do think speaking prayers aloud are important as well, I think being able to have a physical item to look back on to see how great our God is, has helped me in my spiritual journey!

Amazing podcast! Love the connections between gymnastics and having faith. Also that it is okay to be nervous, thats actually a good thing. However, there is a difference between being nervous and being afraid. Thanks for sharing Sadie and Carly.

"You have to use the nerves to benefit you. Nerves are a good thing and I had to learn that. Nerves are good. Nerves are there to... that's how you know you care. That's how you know you want to do a good job. And for me too, in those competition moments, I was constantly praying to God, like there was just this open dialogue, talking, you know, non-stop... It's all about going out there and letting the nerves work for you. And I kinda was always like trying to turn it into an excitement thing. Like this is my time to shine and to show people the work that I've put in." - Carly Patterson The nerves you feel can be turned into a good thing. You have to see them as positive excitement. Your time to shine with God. An important moment to trust in God.

Sadiie ---- I love that you are not sing songing when you talk as much...when you speak each word with respect and don't combine your words together it makes what you say more understood and way more impactful. Your words matter - each word! Thank you!! Thank you!!

Hello brothers and sisters, could you pray for me to be completely free from addictions, and that my relationship with everyone is healed. I want to live a God centered life, a free life where God always comes first. I want Him to be my God not my addictions. In Jesus Name, Amen.

    Vision board? New age

What I got from the conversation is that she used it to organize her goals, opportunities, etc. She might have called it vision board because that's the term that is going around now. Yet, I saw how both ladies emphasized that they placed their goals and desires in God's hand. Like a prayer journal, prayer list, or prayer board. Love that the church is staying awake though, many blessings!!!
