I watched this again tonight but, with my 13 year old grand son... We had several LONG discussions about the right ways to sharpen knives etc...I appreciate your sharing all that you know. These kinds of "life skills" are priceless!

Just proved a point to my friend that there is a way to sharpen the reamer/awl and you proved it to him just now , I’ve never had reason to sharpen my Swiss Army same model as in your video ...... I only use it on wood it never lets me down . Happy new year Felix ciaooooo
I really appreciate the knowledge that you share.
I didn’t know this angle 48. Now it will be more easy to sharp it. Thank you.

I have never tried that trick, but I will. Thank you Felix.

Slightly disappointd you didn't use the pen, scissors and woodsaw on a Swiss Army knife, Felix, but still a very good trick. Many woodworkers use similar guides for things like spokeshave blades.
Thanks for another great & helpful tip, Felix! I have sharpened the reamer freehand & never got it perfect. Now I know what to do. The Fieldmaster I ordered from your Amazon site just arrived. I plan to make the spoon carving chisel mod you showed. Blessings

Hi Felix.

Hello Felix, really enjoy learning tips and tricks from your channel. I have many SAK’s that I have collected over the years but recently have been carrying an Alox Farmer. I was wondering why I have never seen you use an Alox SAK in any of your videos? Thanks again for educating me in so many ways of the SAK. You are like a SAK Jedi Master!

Great video my friend
That's good for begginers. I keep the reamer sharp, with an easier and faster way. I simply put the edge bevel, flat on a ceramic rod, until I fell the edge laying flat on it, then I drug it on, like sharpening a knife blade. After less than a minute, the edge is 2-3 times shaprer, than factory sharpness. Sometimes, if more work is needed and a burr is formed, I just do the same, on the other side of the edge, but I do only one normal pass and then I check sharpness with my thumb and I repeat the steps, if needed. Take care!

PS I always sharpen both my blades and the sharp tools, the first day I get them. Not only you can make them much sharper, it's also proper, to remove the fatigued steel, to reach the good heat treated steel, especially on our knife blades, where we have to sharpen them, at least 3-4 times, until we can reach, the "good" steel. Only after 4 or sometimes 5 sharpenings, you can judge a steel, on how it can perform, both in edge retention and on toughness!
Bro you are awesome
nicely done
