Instead of a zig-zag stitch, could you do a straight stitch very close to the edge of the satin binding?

Agreed. I've made several fleece comforters with satin blanket binding edges. I would top stitch the miter after I had zig-zagged the binding to the comforter. Not a great look, but it secured the miters closed. Your method is the best, and the best explainer video of how to do mitered satin blanket binding corners. Thank you.

@@NotchesSewing Yes, this is the best mitered corners I have ever seen! A friend had made the blanket. She had sewed the 2 pieces of flannel together and turned it, making the edges bulky!! I was doubtful I could get the corners to look as nice as yours did in the video. The first corner was perfect! Beginners luck, I told myself! But the next three were just as nice. Because of the bulky edge, it took some patience to get the satin corner pulled out to the nice point, but persistence succeeded!! As another comment stated, you don’t waste words! I agree, and that persuaded me to subscribe!! I’m anticipating learning from you!!! 😊

Thanks so much Ellie- Marie. I appreciate you letting me know. I am a real stickler for nice clean finishes. They are a lot of methods out there that leave the corners looking a bit unfinished and I could never live with a very obvious thick join in the middle of seam………. @@NotchesSewing extremely pleased! So much easier and neater corners! I made my own bias so that was a bit tricky as I had to press the long edges but even with that extra work it turned out very nice and tidy. Thanks again!
Awww this fabric is just so cute 🥰. We don’t have anything as nice as this here. You gave me a great idea , when I become a grandma to make smaller blankets for kids to carry around , like at babysitter, on car trips, at their grandparents’ home, pack for vacation. It’s nice security blanket to fall asleep with . Great 👍 tutorial! Very neat . Btw : watching news …are you ok at home , I see flooding in Sydney and other parts of Australia. Hope you , your family and home are safe. Take care !

Hi Berniece! Yes just like what Linus carried around from Charlie Brown.😊. This type of fabric shouldn’t be too hard to find. We are ok and not affected by floods. Thanks for asking. Hope you and your family are well too. Thanks again for watching. Will have new stuff this weekend. Cheers!
I used your method on a hand woven baby blanket that I made & it came out very nice. Any issues were with my 77 year old fingers. Thank you very much for your video & instructions. Charlotte😅

Charlotte, I know exactly what you mean with the fingers….. Takes about half an hour in the morning before I can even make half a fist….I’ll have some more baby blankets soon. Thanks for watching 😊
Beautiful. Thank you.
