8 years old and this video is still helping people (me). You have an awesome teaching style and your enthusiasm is catchy! You make me feel like I can do it (whatever the project). Thank you so much!!!
How does someone so young get to be so smart and be such a great teacher? Of all the video's I have watched she is by far the best teacher . I love she gets down to business and everything I have tried she has a video on comes out beautiful. I just started sewing. She's adorable too.
Thanks, for sharing your "paper template measurements "& thanks, for getting straight to the point & for sharing your great sewing skills!
Thank you so much for your videos. Making napkins for my sweet DIL to go with a table runner for Christmas. This little tool is gold! I am not good at eyeballing and ironing a hem. Thank you so much too for your video Paper Piecing Made Easy. It rocked my "quilting skills" world.
what a blessing I received toni8ght, finally finding someone that I connect to when you teach . im at the age where AARP has been looking for me for a while.lol. bought a brothers sewing machine years ago ,it was a daydreaming passion to be able to put the pedal to the metal whipping out projects like I do clients as a hair dresser for all these years ....NOPE...Wasnt happening I've been scared to death just looking at this machine ,then finding out I need a computer also O#G HOW IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN.i bought a Mac computer, geek squad, apple care , bartering computer lessons for hair cuts ..hasnt been the picture in my mind . I've been tubing sewing channels forever now which were only making it worse .....I stayed up all night watching you and I get you,,,,THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Been making napkins for ten years, but learned a lot from this very well done video. Excellent teaching and I like the speeded up parts that needed to be.
Brilliant video. I am a 70 year old bloke that enjoys using a sewing machine. This is the best vid on mitred corners. So clean and precise. Thanks young lady.

So glad to hear this! Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
This tutorial is the best and most easily understood one on mitered corners that I have ever seen! I'm off to make a set of napkins for a Christmas gift. I absolutely love your tutorials because you make everything so clear. Thanks!
I've been sewing for 50 years, this is the best mitered corners I've ever seen. Love your paper template too. BRILLIANT!!!
Absolutely the best tutorial I've seen on mitered napkin corners. THANKS!
Thank-you so much! I used this method way back when I was in Junior High School (I'm 70 now), but had forgotten exactly how I did it. Of course, they were hand sewn back then. Thanks for the fond memories! BTW ... looks beautiful and thank-you for your time and sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much Vanessa! I love your tutorial and your napkins!
Thank you so much for your video tutorials. You have a wonderful way of connecting with an audience. Teaching is an art, and you obviously are gifted with it.
I have watched you forever since you first started your channel. I gotta say, you got a lot of fancy fathers since then , like your long arm and you got into a lot of quilting stuff. But I personally like your regular sewing and the baskets you make from clothes lines. Your tricks are clear and I have learned a lot but I like the fast and easy stuff you do best. Your a great teacher. But, a lot of us can’t afford the fancy stuff. Please keep that in mind. Love your work.
I love all your tutorials! You take the time to explain everything so clearly all your efforts for us is so appreciated! Thank you so much.
This is probably the best explanation and demonstration for making mitered corners. Especially for crafts. I need a nicely made fabric rectangle (17" x 4") with a nice edge to sew onto a football jersey. The letters will go on this rectangle. I am going to use this technique to make the rectangle. Excellent. Glad I stumbled onto this video.
That seam guide is amazing! Your brilliance amazes me every time:)
I'm new to sewing and every time I start a project I realize I need a tool I don't have. Your hem guide is perfect! I don't have to buy it and you can iron it! So much love for you right now lol thank you!
You explain things in such a simple manner. I love the way the mitered corners look. I will definitely use this on my napkins. Thanks for the tutorial
Thank you for this video! Our Christmas presents are going to be a hit! I love the way you clearly describe the process. I’ll definitely be back for more sewing advice!
Love it!!! I have been sewing for a long long time and this is the first time I saw a simple miter corner. Great idea
I really appreciate your patient attention to every detail. Thank you for sharing really good techniques for making the best cloth napkins!
You are a very detailed teacher. I thought I was doing pretty good, but you are awesome!
OMG! I love, love, LOVE this! I've been wanting to make these for a while now but have been too to intimidated to try (fairly new to sewing still). You made this so simple. Thank you!
This is the best explanation and illustration for making metered corners! Thank you!
This was an excellent tutorial. Crisp, clean, professional presentation. I also learned about basting glue - great for doing all the prep work in advance for sewing with kids. Thanks!
One of the best tutorials I have ever seen. She "tells" you and "shows" you every step with great close-up camera work. Great presentation. Thanks.
You're a very good teacher! I could see what you were doing right away. You made it so clear to me.
Love the ideas of the temples. I would have never thought of this. Perfect demo easy to follow. Thank you so much. Getting ready to make napkins to use on deck when having a summer dinner

Excellent tutorial making professional looking napkins look So simple & easy to understand, thanks Vanessa! LOVE the idea of using different FQ from the same fabric line - simple brilliance! ♡
Just love your 'hemming guide', Vanessa! Creative and utilitarian addition to your sewing 'stash', and easier/more consistent to use than a ruler or measuring tape. As always, thank you for sharing with all your informative tutorials.
I love you’re videos, I been sewing for 20 years, things that I remembered from my mom, then finally I got my sewing machine from Walmart, simple basic, i started sewing and making winter hats , skirts, shorts, and design my own, you inspire me so much. Im working on my placemats.
Great tutorial. So easy to follow and napkins have perfectly mitered corners. Yay!
Love this idea works so well for napkins.
Well! I am a very new sewer, and I thought this might be easy to do. Watched a couple of others about the mitred corners, but THIS one made sense! You've given me confidence to have a go. And I don't need all the gear that I would have needed for the others. Thank you!
This was my first sewing project. Thank you so much for making it a wonderful experience!
I am diving back into sewing after a loooong time away. Your tutorial was just what I needed to get started!
THANK YOU!! I have watched too many videos to do the corners and this was the BEST! The most simple and clear instruction's out there! Only wish I would have found this sooner!

This is the easiest and best tutorial on mitered corners. Thank you for taking the time to clearly explain all the steps!
Hi I love your tutorial. This is soooo good. You can’t beat a good teacher. Thank you very much
thanks for your sewing expertise. My family and I exclusively use cloth napkins. They make great housewarming and holiday gifts. Love your corner technique. When you cut the triangle of fabric off the corner, you could use it as a template for the other 3 corners. I have subscribed to your channel to use your quilting techniques. Thanks again for sharing!
I too have been sewing for over 50 years, and highly recommend this video. Very clear and excellent tips!!
This is an AWESOME tutorial! I’ve just finished making a set of quilt as you go placemats. Now, I need to go and grab up some fabric and make some pretty napkins to go with them!
Great Vanessa!!! finally I found the right video with the easy way for to do the corners. Thanks a lot. Blessings

WOW you are such a good instructor.!!!!! I'd watched another tutorial before and I was like I don't get it. This one is PERFECT!!!! Thanks so much.
OMG that hem guide is so clever! What a game changer! Thank you!
Clear and precise instructions...the best tutorial on mitered corners! ❤
I want to thank you - you helped me alot. I needed to know the mitered corner for blankets for my nephew, and another video I saw used a tool with a 45 degree angle, well I didn't have that tool, then I found your video which worked great for me, perfect corners, blankets done. Thank you so much!
I love your tutorials! You are so professional and thorough! Very helpful!
Wow best video on hemming. The hem guide makes it so easy. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your skills!! I've been sewing for years but learn something new with each of your videos
Great!!! Always wondered how this is done. Will definitely have to use this one time. Thank you!!
You are an awesome teacher! Your videos are so easy to follow along! Thank you for all you do!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOU!!! You have made this so easy, quick, and professional looking. I’ve tried other “training” videos but found them too complex with all the measuring at 45 degree angles and such. I didn’t like the finished product so I ended up putting the un-hemmed napkins away. Now I am motivated to get to hemming. Thank you so much.
What a great idea to make hem precise! Thank you.
Your hem guide idea (the manilla folder paper with lines drawn for hems) is brilliant! Thanks also for telling what kind of fabric to use.
Thank you for this tutorial. You are a good teacher. Keep up the good work.
This is the best tutorial for making mitered corners!
Thanks so much for your tutorials - I found this video the best for doing mitered corners for a beginner like me!!
LOL. I have been sewing for over 45 years and have never been able to do a really good mitered corner. UNTILL today. I was doing a little happy dance after I got it. Good job well done!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been sewing from utero, but have never experienced the frustration of making miter corners on the napkins! I knew there had to be a better way....and Voila!! You appeared with your magic template. I am so happy! Doing my happy dance right now.
Nice video. Didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, but you are a good teacher.
Vanessa, thank you so much for an easy tutorial for mitered corners! Thanks to you, I was able to finish my grandson’s quilt and two receiving blankets without fear. For some reason, none of the other videos CLICKED for me, and your instructions were sooo much easier to understand without all the grid lines to be marked. Thanks a million!
Best napkin tutorial out there!!
Thank you for clear, simple, step by step instructions.
Omg. That seam guide is the best idea. Something so simple but makes everything easier. Why didn’t I think of that?!? Amazing!
I just love your tutorials! You're instructions are complete, your video is clear and easy to follow. I'm learning so much from you. I grew up sewing, but haven't sewn in years, so I have a lot of skills to get back, like this mitered corner one! And your pillowcase tutorial was my "GO TO" and made several for my grandkids and my customers! I do machine embroidery, but basic sewing is lacking! Thank you so much for how great you are as a teacher!

Great video! I especially like the idea of using different prints from the same fabric collection. The smaller sized napkins would be great for kids.
As a beginner sewer, this made SO much sense to me! Great description and video. I'd watched a few others on mitering corners and I really screwed things up. Here's to trying again! Thanks go much!
That was super cool! You can use a decorator stitch instead of a straight too! Love it! Thanks for posting!
Love the way you do this !!! I haven been watching videos to make napkins for Christmas - Love the mitered corners - Thanks for the post !!!! I bought a metal hem guide to use a long time ago and I dont like it - it gets very hot - this method is GREAT. You are so precise - love it.
This is such a cool tip to have quick perfect hems, now I feel like a boss🤩 next runner and fabric napkins for 2😄 thanks for the great video sending you lots of love from UK!
