Thank you, thank you, thank you! Because of this video tutorial I was able to make a memorial pillow from one of my dad's old sweaters. Not having much sewing experience the task seemed overwhelming and doomed to fail, but thanks to you and this video it turned out better than I ever could have hoped or expected. What length zipper should I use? 20x20 pillows and 16x16 pillows. And how does that affect where mark inside the zipper - your tutorial says 2.5" but your pillow length is 24. Do I always mark 2.5" in no matter the length of the pillow?

I LOVE measurements. There's other tutorials but without so much detail and this made it super simple. Thank you so much - I have twelve pillows to make!

I just wanted to thank you so very much for making my first pillow zipper a breeze. Really great tutorial. My only mistake was not allowing a wider seem allowance at the beginning where you pin the zipper. I found when I completed everything that it didn't quite catch the edge of the fabric so I added another row of stitching on the right side and it looked fine. I've always been terrified to do zippers lol Now I've gained confidence. Thanks so much Tamara :)

Watched it once then put in a zipper for a homemade beanbag chair and worked like a charm! Was even using furry fabric so added a challenge. Your instructions were soooo well done!

Hi Lindsey, I just used the standard size you can buy off Amazon. You can get them in all sorts of lengths.

😂 I wondered who would be bothered by that. I matched them on the first two pillows but the last one that I filmed I had ran out of fabric to match up the stripes 😅

It is my hope that I have included detailed information for people who are new to sewing in a zipper, so they can get the best start to sewing that they can.

I found your tutorial very difficult to follow. The camera was showing something different than what you were talking about. You also talked too fast and it makes it very difficult to understand all the steps. You do not say how far away from the edge of the fabric we need to place the zipper edges and you don't say what size (in comparison to the pillow size) we need to have for our zipper. Sorry but I did not like this tutorial at all.
