Tamara's Joy // Sewing Channel
Hello! I am Tamara and I love all things Fabric, Quilts, and Sewing.
I created this channel to share fun and simple sewing projects to help you fall in love with sewing too. If that is what you are looking for I highly recommend subscribing to my channel!
As a wife and mother my life is jam packed with all that comes along with family life. But I try to sneak in as much sewing as I can, I am Canadian, a mother of two boys and most of all I am a Christian. That pretty much sums me up!
I hope this channel gives you some guidance as to where to start when learning to sew.
I also want to say that I appreciate your purchases through my links as they bring me a small commission at no cost to you. By doing this it helps me to continue making free sewing tutorials for you.
Thank You & Happy Sewing!

Explanation is much better than others I have reviewed
Love this. Thanks!
I love your tips! I use a heavy duty plastic drinking straw to slip over my thread spool holder when using cones of thread. I also mark my sewing scissors with "sewing only" so everyone can be warned not to use my material scissors. lol
Ugh, I pre washed!
You talk (and work) way too fast. Especially with your measurements. Not helpful at all.
I got the height, but what should the length be? Thank you, Super cute
6.11 - the stitching is all over the place! Not even vaguely straight
If my fabric is a print that is directional, do I need to add any length to my fabric account for an added seam on the bottom?
This was wonderful! Thanks so much!
If you don't have a teflon foot you can put matte scotch tape on regular bottom of foot. Great bag.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, this helped me create a beautiful skirt ❤
I was excited to find a video using purchased bias tape but do you realize your hand is in the way when you show what you do when you get near the end and show how to go off the side at the end of the first corner?
I was thinking of making a larger bag and was wondering if I have to think about anything. Can I just make every part larger? Im new to sewing so I don't really know how it works
I made this bag first time very nice i like it pleas tell mi how to sell this bag

THANKS ! I'm from MEDOWIE NSW
Waukesha, Wisconsin... Great tutorial. Just what I was looking for.
You make amazing videos!!!! You are sharing honest and thoughtful lessons with REAL information and not just empty tidbits based on shallow understanding of a subject. You are the real deal and people new to seeing and returning to sewing after a long break (like myself) will surely get a lot from your channel!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
I don’t even really see but this tutorial was so amazing I kind of want to start sewing again!
This is Gail sewing from Central PA. Love your tutorials, especially for sewing pillow covers and baby items as well as tote bags. Thanks Tamara!
Yay! Found my 2024 Christmas gifts to my readers! Thank you so much! I have just started sewing with a machine and I want to make EVERYTHING you have made! 🎉❤🎉❤

So there isn't a 3 piece in the middle?
thank you so much all the way from Lima Peru
I have one! It turns off after a couple of minutes and you are stuck and you can’t get it on again. My project came to a complete STOP! I think it has a short so company is replacing it when it comes back in stock! Only lasted maybe 4 months. My $10 B & D lasted much longer! Still working
I have been sewing for 60 years. Quilting for 20 years of that. Making my first rag quilt now. I did learn that if you are using up batting leftovers, do not cut batting the same size. Batting should be smaller 1-1/2 inches on each side so that you cannot see batting after washing. I have now prepared over 70 squares now. My squares are 10 inches and I anticipate another 1-2 weeks for this. This is not as easy as it was reported. If I had to advise a newby, I’d say to proceed slowly. Those scissors can ruin it. Careful and methodical is the way forward. I will post my finished quilt. 120 squares and mostly denim, which rags so nicely. Just take a deep breath if you get overwhelmed and walk away for a while. All be be okay.
I am from rural northern Nevada.
Awesome tutorial!! Easy to follow.
Great video England
I am concerned about thread storeage. Keep it from being damaged from light
Yes! I fully agree. I keep my thread that I don’t use on a regular basis in my sewing box. I keep the colors I use all the time out but I figure they won’t be hit by much light before I get to them.
Schönes Tutorial.Doch die Stimme der Dame geht einem nach kürzester Zeit auf die Nerven.
Thanks for the clear instructions. Tons of tomatoes this year, figs later in the summer.
Great tutorial 🧵🪡 Virginia!!
Wow! Awesome teaching !! Love this!! Just started sewing again after many years!
.ade a bag snd love it so much my mom stole it from me. I have several people wanting one thanks so much
A bed skirt! Do you know how to make one? I really want to make my son a bed skirt to help hide & keep him from pulling out everything I store under his bed lol I’d like for it to be a ruffle/wavy kind, just no idea how to go about it!
Well, I won't be touching that iron, even with a 10' pole. The leaking is a definite deal breaker. Thank you for sharing.
No problem! They have a new version out now so I am not sure how that one will work. I love using mine, but I never use water :)
Amazing! I mean, how has it taken me so long to find this channel?
Welcome! I have lots to share :) Happy Sewing!
Awesome job!
I ordered a croquet kit. Stopped getting the subscriptions 1/ 2 way through the project. When I inquired, there was a shortage supply. That was two years ago. I didn’t get a refund for the remaining kit.
Absolutely loved it! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
