Love the videos man. Not sure if you've covered it before but a lot of us in the community actually cut out that whole filter system, cut out that divider, and replace with a sponge filter. Looks good and gives your betta a decent amount of extra room in the tank! Takes 5 minutes and your betta would appreciate even the extra inch! Something to think about

I still have to order some of the modification stuff you recommended on amazon so i won’t be putting it together tonight, quick question though, when transferring him to the new tank i should let it cycle for like 24 hours first right? @@lilisoldati4 if it's a completely new cycle, you'd need to wait a month or two to get the cycle to establish. if you have old filter media with bacteria, you can get away with 1-2 days of a quick cycle. if all else fails, i would recommend going for a bottle of tank quick starter like this: amzn.to/3ri98Sn - just make sure you follow the directions to a T!

I just want to say your MarineLand videos have been so helpful, to finally move my niece's betta fish from the bowl he was living in, to a better environment! I had a quick question about the heater. I put it in that back compartment, and I read that it needs to be totally submerged. Which it was. However, I found it a few days later with less water (???) no idea how. There are no leaks, maybe evaporation? I wanted to see if you had any tips for that or if it has happened to you. I got scared and unplugged it because I read that it should not be above water! Let me know your thoughts :) Thank you so much for such helpful content for fishies!!

This aquarium was one of my first tanks for my bettas. I eventually switched up to just a regular 10 gallon glass tank, or acrylic 10 gallon if I could afford it. The Marineland is really a beautiful tank for sure (and a reasonable size for a betta) but I couldn't clean the back filter space at all with my hand. I found it hard to remove and clean the tubing, etc., in there as the space is so small. Also, I just wanted a larger tank that made it easier to maintain water quality and for the betta to have more space. That worked the best for me. Those old school 10 gallon tanks are so reasonable to purchase. I got most for $14.00 on Amazon at least a few years ago. Love your tanks though and the fish you choose. I'm sure you have it down maintaining the 5 gallon. I found your channel when you were explaining swim bladder disease and treatment of it. I don't know if you like doing those fish disease videos but I learned a lot from that video. Fortunately it turned out my betta didn't have that disease, but still I am happy to have the information. It's a relief to recognize a fish disease so treatment can accurately begin. I cured my one betta with Saprolegnia but I had a hard time finding out that this was the true diagnosis. So since then I am trying to learn as much as I can but it's not so easy sometimes

The super glue won’t effect the fish? I’m using this video item by item. I had a 3.5 gallon tank with a female beta in it that I got from petsmart and it was given to me with Ich so I won’t be buying fish there anymore they offered me a refund but by that point the entire tank was infected. So I’m afraid to use the tank along with all the aquascape again with a née fish so I’m just going to start over! I’m not an aquarium enthusiast but I’m trying to learn I’m a huge fan of your work I watch a lot of your videos.

Super glue is harmless! Just make sure it's 100% cyanoacrylate. And thanks for the kind words!

You know what I like about your tank you didn't overstock it with hardscaping and there's just enough plants I actually set up I think it's a 6 to 7 gallon tank although I'm not sure cuz I live in Taiwan but it's pretty big and I posted a Facebook video you're welcome to take a look at it if you can find it it's my first time doing it. I've been in the hobby for 3 years but when I first started off I didn't have anyone guiding me so it was kind of trial by error when it came to finding natural looking things and then I've been trying to keep betas finally figured out the pH was too low and it was killing off all my fish except for the females I used to have about 10 tanks the landlord said it could only have three now and so I chose the biggest ones I had the smaller ones I keep rinsed and cleaned and dry under my bed all the other stuff I kept that I had acquired over the years and then I just put it under the bed clean and ready to go but I really enjoyed making my own tank I've actually rescaped my smallest tank and then I've got my other tank which I'm in the process of putting together and I think it's going to look great when it's done but really what I'm happy about is the waters just super clear and I don't always run the filters cuz I'm not allowed to but I run it when I can and water is clean the pH is stable and really it just looks great and I do my weekly water changes I think I finally figured out how to keep betas I'm actually thinking of turning my second tank into a tank for some guppies or a Grammy or possibly some pie forget the name of the fish but these are fish that are suitable for 6 gallons It's my goal one day to have an online business with a classroom for teaching where people could come in learn how to set up a tank and make one and realize that you can keep your fish in a good size tank without taking up most of your home I want them to realize that it doesn't take a lot of time to keep your fish tank functioning and beautiful
