    I am 25 years old and I just bought my first fishing pole, I've never done this before. It was more difficult than it should have been to find the how to video that I was looking for, one with simple instructions without all the extra talking and blabbering about stuff that wasn't answering my questions. And then I finally found this. Thanks a lot bud.

    If you're talking about the round bobber, he's doing it wrong. You hook the line solely at the bottom just as he did with the other float/bobber. The hook at the top is simply to hold the button on. The button adds weight to the top to allow the bobber to respond more dramatically to a fish nibble.

    @@wnbross5926 WnB Ros .. No, they don't. These bobbers have been available for decades and I've never seen anyone (until recently - last few years) hooking both top and bottom. Only one end is made to easily hook the line. The other requires more dexterity, because the line wasn't intended to be hooked to this end - the top. Go back to the old ads or old books. All show only the bottom.

  • @armyguy8022

    @armyguy8022

    You take a sewing needle before putting your hook(s) and sinkers. Use a small needle may be a little bigger then the fishing line and go length wise. The earplug will expend and grip the line, if it doesn't, the needle was too big, so the hole is too wide. As a bonus, the foam will slide up or down for adjustments. P.S. watch your sinkers if it is too heavy the foam is sink. It is perfect for small hooks and sinkers for small mouth fish like perch, whitefish even lake trout in lakes with little or no current. If you have to use heavy sinkers because of fast currents, use your old wine corks bottles, it is much bigger than earplugs, so it could handle heavier sinkers. experiment.

    I'm headed out fishing for a day and needed to learn how to set up a rig/bobber. You sure taught me how to do it. THANK YOU!!! Keep it up. You have no idea how you can help someone like me who has no clue how to do these things.

    The colored part of the bobber should be up. The white part should face down in the water so it blends into the sky, making it harder for the fish to see, and making the colored part easy for you to see against the water's surface. Those 'spikes' on the hook are called 'barbs' and that is a baitholder hook. The end of the line that you pushed through the loop that you cut is called the 'tag end'. Personally, I like to end my leader line with a loop so I can quickly attach/detach a straight swivel or a 3-way swivel for different types of rigs, and for breaking down my equipment at the end of the day for transport. Good video, but there's more than one way to set up a fishing rig, especially for different species of fish. Saltwater fishing is drastically different than freshwater fishing and there are so much more different rigs to learn.

    I have been trying to learn fishing for over 30 years and never had the time. This was great. I have gone to sports stores, read books and seen videos and sometimes the information goes over my head because it is too advanced. And sometimes the people working there can make you feel stupid with what I ask. I just retired and enrolled in the Senior Citizen fishing club also. Thanks a lot for the help. Hope to see more.

    Ive been fishing for a year using only a line and throwing it in the water. Never used a rod. And now im expecting a gift - a rod and a spinning reel, im excited to go fishing using that thing for the first time and ur video for sure will help me learn the techniques and "how to " as a beginner. Kudos from the philippines

    Hey 👋 Just wanna say as a beginner thank you for this! I’ve gone fishing only 6 times at a local bond trying all sorts of set ups and couldn’t catch anything. I started using a bobber/hook/live bait method and caught my first 3 fish. A small bluegill, a 9.5 inch crappie and a 6 inch baby smallmouth bass! Now that I know how to do this set up properly hopefully it will bring me even more success 👍
