Thanks - that worked for my lamp. From this video I determined TWO routines are needed to turn on - and then off - a lamp.After the "on" time was done, I went to the Smart Plug (under Plugs) and I saw that it was switched "on". Since I'm 700 miles from my house, I'm going to assume for another few days that it is, indeed, going on and off.

all of these are the same things that you could find in Bavaria years ago too... amazon and smart devices are not new and domotic hasnt born yesterday.

No kidding!! The instruction booklet reads: "before plugging equipment into smart plug, make sure the equipment is turned off" Common sense tells most people to keep it in on position. But with todays tech, common sense doesnt always apply. What the literal fxck?!

Thank you for the straight forward information. I had an Eco dot and 2 smart plugs that worked great then I got the bigger Eco 2nd generation and now my plugs are useless. I don't have the box they came in so no barcode and when I press the button on the plug until it flashes and scan on the alexa app it just keeps saying "No devices found" I've been trying to connect these for about 6 hours on and off to no avail I'm not that good with technology as I'm in my late 50s so I've only been embracing tech for a couple of years but I'm disabled and these plugs are such a help to me as I live alone. I would be very grateful if you could recommend something I can try? Thank you Dave

I added a an amazon plug to turn on om lamp. I can turn it on uses my phone but not by voice command. When I ask Alexa she says" Living room doesn't support that". How do I fix this? Thanks

The smart plug has 3 prongs (3rd is a ground lug). If your extension cord has 3 holes then yes. Most common extension cords only have two holes per outlet.

Good video. But the problem I have is my plug when I was setting it up I mistakenly set it to turn off after sunrise instead of sunset and I’ve tried everything to edit it and nothing works. I can edit the name of the plug but no edit option to change from sunrise to sunset. It’s so annoying.

All automatic kettles will switch off automatically, meaning when the kettle starts boiling the steam will trigger a switch and switch it off

i think you need to set up a different routine to turn the lamp off. One routine for on. Another for off.

The device is basic, you can not set on the plug for specific timing. For example, I have a routine that turns on the iBlockCube Plug for 5 minutes when the sensor is triggered. in this Amazon Plug you can not do that using plug timing. I hope I am wrong :)

His states in the video that is supposed to put both lights on on the splitter cable that goes to one plug It turns on my aquarium filter but will not turn on my aquarium light but shows that it's on

you need to set up a 'routine' to turn the lamp one, and another routine to turn it off. Watch the last few minutes of this video and he shows you how to set up a routine. good luck!
