In this video I give an overview of how to program routines for the Amazon Smart plug. I show you how to program specific wording that Alexa will understand instead of using the default phrases. I also show you how to program your lights to turn on and off whenever you want byb programming a routine. This is a great tutorial for anyone who wants to make the most out of the Amazon smart plug. wish you would have went one step further to create turn off routine
Thanks for the help. I find that the third-party, smart plugs are often easier to set up than the Amazon ones. It’s never quite as easy as I expect it to be.

Does the plug have to have a constant wifi signal to use the timer function? I would like to reset my router once a week using a smart plug. Thanks
Hi, I NEED SOME HELP. I have a water heater with a recirculating pump. I would like to setup a routine with an Amazon Smart Plug to turn the pump on for 5 minutes every 30 minutes from 8 am until 11 pm daily. Any ideas???
Can you plug and unplug devices and still have access to the plug? Or does the plug have to reset set itself?

Hi and thanks for watching! If I understand what you are asking, yes you can change what you have plugged into the Amazon smart plug. It will follow whatever routines you have already set up for it though so you might want to change those if you need to.
