Hi, thanks for the informative video on these Kreg Jigs. I was hoping to use my K2 to make pocket holes to secure mitered corners for a frame made of 2x4. I was hoping to have a clean face and then have the pocketholes on the backside. Obviously, having to drill pocketholes on both sides won't work for what I'm trying to do. What would happen if I just drilled out 2 holes on 1 side and fasten it? I'm a beginner at wood working, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    Sounds like it would work.

I can do a 2/4, that came out fine, it is the 3/4’’ pine that it comes out to high on the board.

Have you set the drill bit depth with a nickel?

Just recently purchased a senior's Kreg collection which includes K2 all metal jig. What is the set up for real 1" oak lumber. I took apart oak bunk beds and making a full size futon frame with the finished lumber.

Nice, it’s a good jig and you’ll get some good use out of it.

Hello Ian- Thanks for this video and some of your others - you were an inspiration to me converting my Kreg jig to an air clamp mechanism, surprisingly easy to do, having seen some of the details in that video. Hopefully you can help me on my present quest: I'm in search of info on my particular Kreg jig (which has no identifying part or model numbers printed on it or the carry case). It isn't listed, shown or even mentioned on the Kreg web site and I have searched from one end the the internet to the other and the ONLY trace I found was on the preview thumbnail view of your K2 setup video. It is the lighter blue plastic model shown third jig from the right side almost directly below the Dewalt drill. What model is that thing? I think I bought mine in the late 1980's, it seems to fall somewhere between the K2 & the K4 ?? I am in need of the user manual for it and I don't know how to identify it. Thanks if you can help. Tom C

Hi Tom, that jig is the K2000 jig. If you Google “Kreg K2000” you’ll find a pdf of the user manual. I’m going to be doing a video on that jig soon. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@@TheNorthlandWorkshop OK great, found the K2000 pdf right away - thanks. Really looking forward to your video on this model. It's not as versatile as the K4 insofar as drilling different thicknesses, seems to only easily accommodate 1/2, 3/4 and 1 1/2 inch boards, so I hope you can offer tips and setups for working with in-between materials like 7/8 and 1-inch. Thanks again Iain

I recently came across a k2 (later model) in a very nice wooden carrying case. This Kreg has a blue handle. Have you come across one like that?

Yes, I have one of those now. The blue handled ones came out in the late 90’s and were replaced by the k2000 in the year 2000.
