Great ideas! Environment plays such a big role in one’s state of mind. It can aid learning or detract from it. Your space looks ideal- clean, organized, full of light. It lifts the spirit and inspires! Thank you!

It does! I’ve noticed when my house is cluttered or not arranged well then it creates a totally different atmosphere in my home.

I liked your three ideas for notebooking options. Here's another inexpensive idea for a Charlotte Mason homeschool. We use basic composition notebooks. Granted, they aren't as beautiful on the shelf as other options, but I've tried almost all of your examples and this works best for us! Copywork, written narrations, or word study all go into the same notebook. The subjects are mixed, but it takes about a school year to go through. Thank you for sharing how homeschooling can fit into a variety of budgets and spaces.

That’s a great idea! I hadn’t thought of putting all language arts into one notebook, but that cuts down on space and simplifies it a lot. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I am just now beginning this method with my kids. I am overwhelmed with it all but I know implementing will be worth it.

so fun see your face again! :) Your whole space is full of so much light and all those books look wonderful! I love the recyclable binder, I've never seen those at the dollar store before but I'm going to look now. We have some of those colorful notebooks as well and I love them. What I like about them is that we can keep using them every year until they are full and then they have a bound book of their learning. Less work for me to keep track of loose pages!

Yes! That is definitely a benefit of using the bound notebooks. I don’t like storing a lot of stuff, so I prefer to keep only their favorite pages from that year. It just proves that there isn’t one “right way” to homeschool! The materials you use depend on your family’s needs.

Where did you get your chalkboard?

We made it! We painted a thin board with chalkboard paint then add molding after nailing it to the wall.
