In this video, we’re going to learn how to send mail from localhost in WordPress. When creating a WordPress website, we need to perform various tests. Checking if the forms and email functions are working or not is a part of those tests. That’s why in this video our goal is to check how to send mail from localhost in WordPress using an SMTP plugin.
In this tutorial, we used the Easy WP SMTP plugin to send emails from our WordPress localhost site. There are several SMTP plugins for WordPress, you can use any of those plugins. Just make sure that it is compatible with your version of WordPress. After watching this video you will know how to send email from WordPress localhost using the Easy WP SMTP plugin and Gmail.
We used the free version of the plugin to test the email functionality of our localhost website. Generally, you don’t even need to test if the email and form is working or not. When you make your WordPress site live, you’ll see whether the forms and emails are working. But still, it is best to check if everything is working properly beforehand. We tested to see if our contact form is working and if the purchase confirmation emails are being sent properly.

i cant do it i got this message while testing the sending email "There was a problem while sending the test email. Misconfigured server certificate. This means OpenSSL on your server isn't able to verify the host certificate. There are a few reasons why this is happening. It could be that the host certificate is misconfigured, or this server's OpenSSL is using an outdated CA bundle."
Thank you! It works nice! Since Google closed its service for unsecure apps I didn't know how to setup my local environment for sending emails. Thanks again!
