  • @OutdoorBeards

    @OutdoorBeards

    5 жыл бұрын

    Sorry for late response! Cook off should be with the hood open. Otherwise the excess you’re burning off will rise up and burn to the top of the hood. Since your doing this with the hood open and on a high setting you’re not looking for a specific temperature. You’ll know it’s done when you stop see the wisps of smoke.

    That would depend on the grill. For instance, my grill has cast iron grill plates, though I have had other grills with coated plates in the past. The downside to nylon is that you can’t clean the grill while it’s hot because you will melt the nylon. I don’t like having to wait for the grill to cool down and since I have cast iron it’s not an issue for me.

  • @OutdoorBeards

    @OutdoorBeards

    4 жыл бұрын

    Nothing should be sticky. The hood may brown during this process but you should not have sticky residue left over. Could be the oil you used? Or perhaps too much. This is the first I’ve heard of this problem and I have never had it happen. For the sticky residue, the best I can suggest without having it in front of me is a good scrub with a 000 steel wool combined with a grill cleaner.

    Manners03 I could see that being beneficial for the grill plates. In the case of my grill those are the only parts that are cast iron. Cooking on them will also season them further just like a skillet. Just depends on how much time you want to spend on it.

  • @OutdoorBeards

    @OutdoorBeards

I allready have pam but after baking an egg i.e. what is the best way to clean the pan for the residu? I dont want to use bakingsoda/soap mix cause baking soda is harder on the pans. Mac Pelao i don’t have roaches where I live. Never thought about it but I would think the roaches would be attracted to the grill after you cooked either way.

    Brother, you are not going to be happy when i say this, but I went from my weber to nexgrill, thought i would be happy with nexgrill, but, my third cook, the grill came up in flames because of the residue grease from my previous cook burgers. I never cleaned my previous weber for 5 years and never had this problem. So, i brought back nexgrill and bought a weber again. I bought a grill because i need a durable, minimal maintenance food cooker, Not a grill i need to clean every time after i cook. have you had this problem with your nexgrill? I personally thought it was annoying, and that's why i went with weber again. Let me know! Thank, and thanks for the helpful video!

    Yeah I clean mine on a regular basis, but I enjoy the whole process of prep, cook, clean. It’s therapeutic in a way I think.

    @@OutdoorBeards I agree with you on the (prep and cook), but the clean for me is the hard part 🤣🤷‍♂️. Well, I just spend $650 for a weber, so i'm going to make damn sure I start enjoying the clean part, because i want to keep this maintained well to last a good amount of time. Thanks for the tips! I appreciate your help.

    should i season the grill even if the grates arent cast iron?

  • @OutdoorBeards

    @OutdoorBeards

    dubb if you’re grates are not cast iron then they are probably coated with porcelain enamel and would not need to be seasoned. You do want to run the grill for 10-15 minutes prior to cooking on them to burn off anything left over from the manufacturing process.

    Sérgio Henrique I remember I mistakenly did that to a stainless steel wok years ago, thinking I had to season it. It looked like that, too, and I just threw it out. I’m not going to do that to my new BBQ.

    How bad is it, if these steps are skipped? Someone I know is using his grill for the first time and did not do anything of these steps. Should I be afraid?

    This is more for the longevity of the grill. The burning off of coatings from the manufacturer is the only health related thing and that would happen the first time he heats it up before he starts cooking.

    I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience kzread.infoUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
