I just recently added screen printing, glass etching and wood burning to my cricuting. I plan on adding engraving in March. In hopes to make a little extra money.

Thank you so much. This video is so informative and very clear. Love your diy videos!!!
Can I recommend a book or flat board to lay screen on when applying vinyl instead of your hand. But great video nevertheless.

Soooooooooo Sweet buddy
Do you need to have anything in the shirt, like does it bleed through?
Can glitter be added to the paint before heat pressing? If so, how long should the press be. Thank you!!
Thank you for explaining each step in such detail. I'm definitely exciting about trying this method for large orders once they are received. I do have one question. In the example you used a heat gun to speed the process and a Cricut easy press to complete. Can I do the same with a clam shell heat press and if so, would it recommend allowing the 8 hrs. to dry before pressing shirts or heat gun as shown?
Great video! So there is no need to put anything between the layers of the shirt?
This is a great and helpful video. Is there any way to use different colors while screening? For example a shirt with a 4th of July image and use red, blue and white paint. Thanks
Do you need a certain type of fabric to screen print on for it to adhere well
can you use more and one color?
@mikeydoesit
2 жыл бұрын
You can, sure. But walk before you run. You have to be supremely precise in layering (as you would layering vinyl) and misregistration will complicate the process particularly if producing multiples. This is design dependent, obviously if you have space to work with between colors but you will need at minimum a stencil per ink color so you’d best best off doing all garments with each color prior to removing the stencil and going to your second color unless you had several mesh screens.
Great Video! One question.. do u have to use a screen... I know it's "screen" printing but could u just use a brush or somethin and apply it to your vinyl cut out?

@heatandbubbles thanks for the reply. Makes sense
@Cecibug1

I imagine it would be super messy when it comes time to pull the vinyl up, and there's a chance of getting paint on your shirt where you don't want it.
@Im.a.Whosoever
2 жыл бұрын
@@Cecibug1 Thanks for the reply & Yes, that is true as well, unless u let it dry just a lil before u removed the stencil. Not all the way dry to where the stencil actually sticks , but just enough to not make it bleed or spread. Just a thought lol
What brand is your ink? Did you like it?
Great video as usual. I just have one question. How did you keep the paint from breeching to the back of the onesie. Did you put anything between the layers. I hope I explained myself clezrly.
@bianca1871
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you will have to put like some cardboard or plastic in between. 🙂
Can you do multiple colors? Are other colors of paint/ink available?
You use the heat gun to dry, not to set the paint, right?
Would it be a long process to screen print multiple colours
Can you do simulation after doing screen painting?
Can you use a regular iron for this?
Can you use the mini heat press to heat set? Is it ok to move it around?
@KJMcLaws
2 жыл бұрын
I think that if you're trying to do it for a set time that you leave it in one spot for 40 seconds and then move it to the next spot for 40 seconds. I don't have any sort of press though so I'm not sure
Do you need to worry about the ink bleeding into the fabric onto the other side, where you possibly need to put parchment paper or cardboard inside the onesie?
@kobolslastgleamingdragon3732
2 жыл бұрын
I use parchment paper inside the item to prevent bleeding.
Do you have a video on how to make your own screens?
I bought a 110 mash metal screen and tried screen printing with your video for the first time today. When cleaning my screen under water, I noticed that the paint is not washing out all the way. tried a little dish soap and a little scrubbing as well and I can still see me last print. Any suggestions?
Can I use a regular Iron?
Can these be washed in cold water?
Great video! Is it possible to screen print on a binder?
@pennytowner728
Жыл бұрын
Yes but you will want to use a finer mess screen such as a 140 or 160 mesh.
How do you use to clean the screen?
Can do a video about screen printing in layers please? Also, is there an alternative to using the heat gun other than just waiting 8 hours for it to dry?
@debra9377
2 жыл бұрын
I use my 15x15 press after it dries for about a hour or 2. I haven't had a problem yet, hope this helps.
is this regular vinyl? can you reuse it? love the tutorial!
@MakersGonnaLearn

Yes. That is correct!

Is that a yes for being able to reuse it too?? Maybe if we use permanent vinyl?? 🤷♀️
During the screen printing, does the ink go on the back of your material? Do you put anything inside to prevent this?
@aimeeverrone1090
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, put parchment paper or a sticky mat inside the shirt
Do you have to put anything between the inside of the shirt so paint don't go through the other side of shirt?
@lisaenglish4770

I believe you need to put say a poster board or something thick in between the shirt layers..
How do you screen print with multiple colors?
I'm new to Cricut, please don't roast me.. Vinyl is said so many times, but never did I hear what type of vinyl. What type do I purchase?
@brandiehammond

There is actual stencil vinyl out there (it’s blue in color) found them on Amazon. In this video , Tanner just used permanent vinyl . Make sure it is not HTV as that for heat transfer and will not stick on the screen.

@@mostlynaturalmamawithaltog1212 Yes, you can use vinyl. I’ve heard permanent is better with the transfer tape. I’ve also seen HTV being used & lastly just purchase stencil paper and reuse them for awhile💙 Hope this helps
Quick question about making these reusable… would you recommend a certain screen mesh AND would we wanna use permanent vinyl? My issue has been heat pressing HTV on the mesh and not getting the pressure and temp right - the adhesive ends up bleeding into the negative space of the image I’m trying get the ink thru 🫠
This was great! Thanks so much.
