Hack: when applying liquids (alcohol, vinegar, goo gone, etc) use paper coffee filters instead of paper towels… they are made so they don’t leave behind any lint or small paper fuzz and works great

First, you’re adorable. OK, moving on, I love that you’re not attached to Cricut, I’ve heard that their vinyl really is not that great. Very very useful ideas! Thank you!
Mat cleaning hack: I use these silicon scrubby things I found at the dollar tree. They are found in the body care, makeup, and baby care areas… basically silicon with little nubbies on it… they have been called reusable washcloths, brush cleaners, and face cleaners. Any style will work. I then have a spray bottle with water and a teaspoon of dawn dish soap that I shake up. I spray my mat and use the silicon scrubby to gently wash my mat. I rinse with water and let air dry. This returns the stickiness and never leaves any fuzz or residue behind. LOVE my mats again!
OMG! I’m just at the first hack of leaving the vinyl on the mat to weed it…how did I NOT think of that!?! Thank you 🙏!!!

When applying vinyl to any non porous surface… spritz with a little water (distilled water works best). This allows the vinyl to move around a bit before sticking so you can place it perfectly… then using your fingers or burnishing tool you squeegee the water out from behind your vinyl. This removes the water, prevents air bubbles, and is far more forgiving when placing your design. Set it aside for several hours while the little bit of moisture dries and your design is well stuck. This is called the wet method and is a variation that professionals use when applying designs to glass doors and cars. You can search KZread for tons of examples. This was a game changer for me!

Yes we do this when applying automotive decals. Saves a lot of frustration.🙂👍
Although the ‘hack’ to find the center of the shirt is a great one… the easiest way to find the center of your design is to put a small rectangle/square into your design (not touching any of the design itself) and center it to your design prior to cutting. I would fold and press, then use marking chalk (the kind that is found in the sewing section of fabrics stores) to lightly mark the fold to make it easy to see (this mark will brush/wash away and will have no effect on the HTV adhesion). Now simply line up your design using the small square you centered with your design and press the HTV liner down with your hands… once most of your design is sticking to the correct place on your shirt, use your finger or weeding tool to peel off the small square. This takes less time and is super easy… it actually takes longer to explain than to do it.
One hack I do that I never see mentioned is that I like to weed a whole bunch of things then apply the transfer tape to all, then cut out individual images. So for example with vinyl labels I might cut on a 12x12, weed all the labels on the 12x12, apply a 12x12 sheet of transfer tape, then cut out each label. It is faster to weed and I can also precut the materials rather than having to cut the exact size. Plus since the transfer tape exactly matches the paper backing it doesn't get stuck everywhere.

I totally agree… and by creative placing, by angling each smaller cut in between your longer ones reduces vinyl waste and saves you a bunch of time!

I recently discovered the "manage costume materials" function, no one ever told me it existed. Using it was a game changer for me. My blade stopped cutting well on some materials. I thought I should change the knife. I learned, instead, that changing the blade pressure setting on the material I will use solved the problem. I just increase the pressure two at a time; test to see if it's working, and if it doesn't, I adjust it again. Easy!

When I sew, I keep a notebook of materials, number of layers, and stitch tension and length; that way if I want to do the same project I can refer to it and instantly set the same settings. I will be doing this same thing for my Cricut projects! 😊
This is definitely off topic, but I never expected a husband/wife marriage here… please don’t be mad… these are the best circuit hacks and videos anywhere! I keep coming back and can’t stop.
I clean my mats with pink stuff(paste). Cleans so well and the stickiness comes back so good!!!
When I got my Cricut years ago I did a side by side price difference. I took a few different co. And took the cost per piece, per roll and made a n extra place to compare the width and length of each item and took the price of them. It really helped to know where I’m saving money. 143 is definitely the winner on cost.

Tanner, I have been using Cricuts since the Expression. But your video today made it "fun" to learn new things that I can do with my Cricut Maker and Explore. Hacks #10 thru 20 were the most helpful. I thank you for all the help you are giving to all of us loyal Cricuteers.

On Black Friday I purchased a Cricut explore air 2. I know it’s not the best on the market but it is all that I could afford being on social security and I almost took it back because I didn’t know the first thing about how to work it. I watched many videos and that didn’t help then I came across your video. Al I can say thank you not only do you take the time to explain you also show where we are able to get accessories cheaper which is a big plus for me. Another problem I have is all the memberships not sure which one I can get for my money. I probably not buy another machine (printer or other machines). I just want to say thank you
You can click the blank box (between the vertical row and horizontal row) twice to get rid of the grid. Much faster. 👍🏼🥰

Wow! Game changer!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
I’ve always had a special mat aside for weeding . That way my cutting mat stays clean. I also use alcohol wipes to clean my items . I’ve tried the baby wipes with not such good results . I clean with the dish soap. Let it dry . Then i apply a piece of transfer tape to cover mat. Let it on for a few days . Then i remove the transfer tape and it’s like new. Very sticky . I then reuse the large piece of transfer tape . Another hack i do is i keep transfer backing from my htv. I then use it when i weed to put the scraps on . It works great . When it’s full, i fold it up and discard.
My only comment is the baby wipes, make sure they don't have alcohol, alcohol will dissolve the stickiness, so most 'Baby' wipes are alcohol free and some regular or make-up type wipes might have alcohol, just verify and save yourself some frustration and tears! :) For the removal of the grid, that's a lot of steps. There is a square at the top of the grid where the top meets the left rulers and just click on that little square and the grid will disappear. I find that to be a lot faster.
Weeding hack! I cut a lot of small and/or delicate vinyl. If I just start weeding in the corners and pull up the vinyl, I was losing small items (i.e. dots over i's, curly Qs on letters, etc) . So I take my True control knife and cut the vinyl around the small and delicate areas. I'll use my weeder or piercing tool to remove all of the internal vinyl, for example the centers of letters like a d e o, etc. then I pull the background vinyl leaving the delicate areas to weed the places I cut around. Does that make sense. It's kind of hard to describe without pictures. I've also discovered that using the iron-on setting on my maker 3 when cutting smart vinyl gives me sharper images.
Thank you so much for showing the flatten feature to help print then cut. Love your videos. They definitely keep me interested in my machine. I was nervous I would have wasted money on my Cricut Maker. I’m now trying to get more comfortable and hope to eventually, down the line start a small business. I really enjoy the line fill when engraving on acrylic, never thought I’d be able to make something I can light up with LEDs. After watching your videos, I’ve started my crafting journey with more difficult projects first. I’m pleasantly surprised. Just need to get better. Thank you for all you do!!!

Tanner & co, where have you been all my life? Well, since I got my cricut lol - I’m from uk n have had my machine a year BUT not got very far - projects I’ve done have been ok but I just lack ideas n inspiration! It’s now 6.35AM n since I found your Chanel at 11PM last night, I’ve been hooked n awake and excited EVER SINCE!!!!! Thank you all sooo much - I feel much more knowledgeable n wanna get started N O W! Lol I came across a “car trash bag” which is made out of material, (which I find hard to cut in a straight line) but it’s the ideal size to make for my 3 year old granddaughter, who has a pretend shop wiv small grocery items n it’s gonna make her soooo happy! I’m sorry for waffling on but honestly, I’m really buzzing now, thanks to U!
Just got mine for my birthday... haven't even taken it out of the box yet... but watching videos so hopefully I learn something as not to get discouraged when using it.
🙋♀️I love the hacks, makes me believe I can conquer the beast with your help🤷♀️😁🤦♀️
Im a begginer- but i want to offer my knowledge- in the 11th hack- screenshot- you show how to remove/add the grid. You can also have a faster way doing that than go to setting. Just press on the blank gray square on the left and top corner of yor grid(next to the 0 and 0) it will also remove or add the grid.
The “taco method” for applying vinyl is a game changer for me. Thank you for sharing it.

Maybe a different color shirt for the second hack? Nope, we couldn’t see the very faint line down the center….. but we did get the idea. 😳. Just a note, I use beanbags to hold items that I don’t rolling away. Yep, little kids bean bags and I also use my heating pad bean bags. One can even make their own with rice and a Cricut stencil.
BTW, transfer tape??? I have to buy that too?? I just thought you slapped the vinyl on! Boy do I have a lot to learn!! 🤪
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing how to cut different colors on one mat. I have been cutting multiple colors on one mat for years… but I have always made them all the same color and then had to be very careful remembering which color went where on my mat… but now it is so much easier, thank you.

Just beware when using multiple windows - I was cutting stickers using Print and Cut at the weekend and was using 2 windows. For the 2nd set I printed off and sent to cut - it then cut the stickers in the non-focused window rather than the ones I had just printed. So note to self - when making stickers use just one window

Never throw away your mats unless they crack or break beyond use! Clean with warm water and tiny bit of dish soap with soft cloth. Dry off let air dry or use blow dryer if it’s still not sticky use masking tape tape off the edges and use zig 2 way glue. However only get the glue where it’s supposed to be sticky hence why you use masking tape for edges if you don’t the 2 way zig glue will/can mess up your machine
To go get everybody my own hack I use the clear contact paper from the Dollar tree works just as good as cricket transfer paper and you could use it multiple times.
