"Duyulan geçmiş zaman" is for the things you haven't witnessed with your own eyes. It is an important tense because people will assume you personally saw/heard what happened if you only use past tense (geçmiş zaman) for them. Gökçe gitti. (standart past tense, Gökçe left.) Gökçe gitmiş. (someone told me Gökçe left.) *Root of the verb + -miş/-mış/-muş/-müş + personal pronoun* Gitmişim (someone told me I left -can be used in cases like sleepwalking, being too young to remember, being drunk, being under anesthesia etc-) Git-miş-sin (someone told me you left) Git-miş (someone told me he/she/it left) Git-miş-iz(someone told me we left) Git-miş-iniz(someone told me You left) Git-miş-ler(someone told me they left)

it looks like when you want to do something, you do use the "-mAk" infinitive, e.g "Türkiye'ye gitmek istyorum" or also when the "wanter" and the "doer" match, "Ayşe de Türkiye'ye gitmek istiyor" I noticed from the third example: Corona virüs bitsin istiyorum that it looks like when you "want" someone or something "to do" something, you use the Voluntative (gelsin, gitsin, olsun) I want Ayşe to come to my house would that be Ayşe evime gelsin istiyorum? or Ayşe'in evime gelmesini istiyorum? We want our cat to get used to the new apartment > Kedimiz yeni daireye alışık olsun istiyoruz? Or Kedimizin yeni daireye alışık olmasını istiyoruz? How would it be for the second person? (I want you to do X) I want you to help me Bana yardim etmeni istiyorum?

Hello can! I have a question ,,I translated happy birthday in turkish it says "doğum günün kutlu olsun" but when I separately translated each word ,it says "kutlu olsun" also means happy birthday ,,then why are we saying the same thing ,twice ?

happy birthday= mutlu doğum günü. Doğum Günün kutlu olsun= May (your) birthday be happy (blessed).
