@@neoagent3 Thats Serbian language, croats have no their language like Americans have no their language, they speak english.

I am a retired ESOL teacher in the USA. My girfriend was raised by Croatian parents and speaks the language fairly well. I'm trying to learn a few things to say to her. Her mom loves it when I say nema problema! Note: I speak Spanish well and from what little I heard usted habla español muy bien. Further note: Don't forget your artcles the/a/an when speaking English. Say THE Croatian language.

My mom is from Komiza and i wish id have learned Croatian from her when i was younger. She didnt speak much english but she always seemed embarrassed to speak her mother tongue. I definitely want my daughter to learn though! Ill check out your leasons :)

Will Croatian translate well to Slovene? Seems to be very little on Slovenian, and I heard the dialects vary dramatically. I heard if you know Croatian, you can understand about 70% of Slovenian language.

They are very similar, but also different. It might be like how Spanish is similar to Italian. Slovenian is more similar to some northern Croatian dialects than Standard Croatian. There's also a lot of older Slovenians who would know Croatian from the Yugoslav days. If you want to learn Slovenian, it's best to stick with Slovenian, though.

@@rockcommen1106 Those languages are a dialect of Serbian language which has root in Old slavic language In Serbia we do church services in church slavonic language which is similar to russian language. It is not nice from you to talk about Slovenian, Croatian but not to mention Serbian language.
