As a housekeeper, this is spot on. Always ask for a new comforter (the heavy cover) if you don’t bring your own covers. Also please never walk barefoot in the shower, flip flops are a must

I put A towel on the floor of the shower or tub and one on the outside too. I really like when a hotel doesn’t have carpet I think all hotels should get rid of carpet. I spray it with Lysol and keep my flip-flops on. Some people might think we do the most but just remember it’s not our home thanks for watching and please join the family and subscribe. I will wipe down the floors with distinct ant cleaner wipes at least. And yes, the towels.

This is spot on, honestly. A lot of my friends called me crazy for cleaning my hotel room and sanitizing. My momma always taught me to never be too trusting of these places!! Things like lice and bed bugs do not play and are terrible once you have them! Always be safer than sorry

We cover the entire bed with polyethene plastic and lay our own bedding on top. We put the TV remote in a 1 gal ziplock bag. Always wear flip flops!! We did this at the Bellagio in Las Vegas!!

Awesome video! I got me a black (purple) light for hotels & for cleaning in my apartment. Just before departure, I leave every towel, rag, sheets, pillow cases on the floor (or slightly wet in the tub), ensuring that whoever gets the room after me gets fresh linens.

If bedbugs are a concern, pull back the sheets and look at the mattress. You'll see tiny black specks in the crevices of the mattress. I travel alone at times. I lift my luggage up and place it on the tile in the bathroom, then go to check the bed first.

I'm a house keeper for 30 years and let me tell you there are nasty people and I have worked with house keeper's that can not clean a room I have seen house keeper's not even change the sheets 🤮 be aware when staying in hotels check your beds to for bed bugs

Yes! 1 Room = 1 ENTIRE Can of EACH disinfectant. Don't Play. I spray the floors too and will lay sheets and towels down (if you have little ones or babies) to cover up the entire room floor if need be.

Always a good idea to clean a hotel room. BUT-- be careful not to mix bleach with alcohol-- it's quite toxic. Keep the two separate. Just an FYI

As a previous housekeeper, Im NOT mad at this. Hell- i saw one lady bring a handfulla COMET and scrubbed the tub! I worked next to people who did the ABSOLUTE LEAST. some DIDNT change sheets. But rest assured, i would strip the bed FIRST and put it in the bathroom, so the co workers HAD to change the sheets. Spraying the remote is TOP priority.

I cleaned for 22 years ..I ALWAYS clean at any hotel. Even 1,000.00 a night villas..dirty as hell. Hotels don't give housekeeping enough time to do nothing...the alcohol tip is gold!and even I wouldn't not be able to stand in the bathroom and spray that much lysol..lol..cough and gag city

I bring my own sheets,pillows, and comforter in addition to cleaning the room

Nice quick clean the add on i do is flipping the mattress to check for bed bugs. I wear shower shoes in the shower as well as any time i walk on the carpet.

Great tip! I put the towel down in the shower and one out the shower. People think we are doing too much but covid and bedbugs are real. See how fast it spread around. thousands of people stay in and out of hotel some bring dogs. Can we ever be 100 % safe know but I like to know I did what I could to have a peace of mind. Alcohol doesn’t kill bedbugs, also you have to pull back the corners to see here they live. So while the alcohol is good for disinfecting , it’s useless against bed bugs.

Good video!! I would recommend you wear disposable gloves while cleaning to protect yourself. Also, if you can’t leave your bags in the car (arrived by plane), put your suitcases in the tub until you finish. Oh and I tell the front desk I won’t need housekeeping. But I’ll leave a tip for housekeeping in the room at the end of my stay. 😊

The experts say to use tea tree oil to kill bed bugs and the winter green fresh alcohol but good job so far

Being a Hskp Supervisor before, I do this all the time when I check in a hotel. I never put my luggage on the floor either. And I always check the sheets if they've been changed or not.

Thanks so much for watching. I bring my own towels if i go far away and don't want to bring towels you can always get extra towels from the front desk I don't want my feet on the floor or in the tub so i put a towel in the tub too.

Great video! What is the item you are using to spray the bed sheets? I always bring a baggie to put the remote in. And take a look at that telephone! You'll find ear wax, lipstick, food, etc in those little holes in the receiver! Don't even think about using it!

When we went to Vegas in March 2021 for my brother and I’s bday we stayed in Vegas overnight for one day. It was me, my brother and my mom all in one room. After walking around Vegas we got to our room at midnight and checked out the hotel at 8/9am. So just for our short hotel stay my mom brought microband and sprayed everything that we may touch down. We also slept ontop the covers and blanket. We stuck the pillows under the blankets and laid on the pillows that way. Also even though we weren’t laying directly on the pillows and weren’t under the covers my mom brought old sheets that she put on top of the hotel blanket and she laid on her own sheets. She also brought an old pillow and slept on that, instead of sleeping on the pillows that was under the cover. Since we only had a 3hr drive and would be back home by 1pm we just waited until we got home to take a shower instead of using the hotel shower. Hotels gross me out. I hate staying at hotels b/c none of them are clean to me. The remotes, light switches, and pillows itself are never 👎🏽 cleaned. All they do is put a new pillowcase on the pillows. They need to wash those pillows after every guest or put new pillows after every guest. 🤮 Gr8 video and hotel cleaning tips.👏👊🏾👌🏾

Wow i do understand. I don't like hotel or public bathrooms. But sometime we have to use them so we do what makes us feel comfortable for that time. Covid taught us all that. you all did the right thing. If I stay overnight at a hotel i shower at home too more than one night I clean and put towel on the tub floor. I love it. I love it. I love it!!! I spray and wipe down too! I have had the unfortunate experience of getting on my knees bedside shortly after checking in, only to feel the wetness and smell of vomit on my knee.... Needless to say, I threw away the pants and was compensated for my clothes and was given a new room at a discount.

Good information. But disposable gloves would have allowed you to protect your hands from lifting the he toilet seat directly and touching shower curtain, pillows etc.

Get some 90 proof alcohol from CVS and spray the beds. If the beds do have bedbugs or lice, it will just kill it for some hours and keep them away from you. 10 minutes clean up to the room will make you feel better. Thanks for watching. Make sure you join the work of excellence family

I do it all the time. And the workers don’t clean good as well. I don’t lay on those sheets I bring a cheap pair and plastic cover. Next time wear cloves.🙏

I wanna figure out how to bring a lot of disinfectant with me on in my carry-on. My TSA toiletry bag is full. BTW Lysol is seriously not good for you - you're best bet is to spray with just straight alcohol. The residue of Lysol is terrible for animals too, hence why my household uses Lysol sooo sparingly and we generally stick to less toxic chemicals.
