THANK GOODNESS I FOUND YOU!
Thanks for the video, I bought a Gen 5 slide to run on a P80 and your video answered my question about the G17 locking lug issue. I will probably run it on a PF940C frame with a gap filler and try to use the marksman barrel. Poi changes with different barrel gens..
Another reason is I just picked up a g45 gen 5 slide for 100 bucks lol great video and I know how I'm building it now
I shoot way better with a gen 4 recoil spring. I like this review because it showed me why I should use a gen 4 slide. I don't want a weaker frame. Thanks man 👍🏽
Sweet! Great video. I put in a Gen 4 trigger housing in my build in order to use an Apex trigger. Works great! Might be a Gen 5 slide in my future.
Excellent video thank you so much other videos talking about machining this machining that and ur video makes the most sense ty
Great video dude, this is exactly what I was looking for
Thanks for this. I'm currently getting ready to build on a p80 frame with a gen4 19 slide and barrel.
Best video of its kind.
The only difference between the gen 4 17 barrel and the newer gen 3 17 barrel is the lug on the gen4 has a wider cut to accept the wider footprint of the newer gen4 guide rods. So since you could run a gen4 barrel in a gen5 slide, you could also run a gen3 barrel in that gen5 slide. I know gen 3 barrels fit in the 4 slides as the dimensions are essentially still the same. I just didnt know about the 3/4s in the gen5 slides, and you answered that question nicely.
CL frames are perfect for G4 G5 slide mod.
Thanks alot for this knowledge man.👍
This video made me subscribe!! Thanks bro
I saw someone else comment and I will agree with their comment that this works because you’re using an Polymer 80 CL frame (Custom Long Slide). I would imagine if you are trying this with a P80 full-size or compact frame (None CL Frame) you will end up having to remove material in the channel as others have told you. Please do a video on that and let us know. I build as well, but I’m not jacking up frame just to see.......... 😂
Your the man bro! Subbed!
You had to make us all jealous with you P80 940CL collection huh? Haha. Thanks for the good content.
This was fantastic.
Nice video, very informative.I’m just sick and tired of RMR
So a few quick questions. Do you run the Gen 3 lower parts one the p80 frame and Gen 4 in the slide with a Gen 3 spring and bushing?
I think the guys that commented on removing more of the frame is in reference to a P940V2 and P940C. The P940CL frames were made differently than the standard P80 frames, giving it a complete round inside the slide area after the nose which corresponds to the Gen 4/5 slide nose. The regular P80 full and compact do not have the full round, which means you will need to remove the interior of the slide area - not just the nose. My guess was that they designed it to nudge-nudge-wink-wink to the requests of a Gen 4/5 P80 build which is not viable because of copyrights still in effect (Gen 3's copyrights are expired which is why P80 can do Gen 3s). Also might explain why they discontinued the CL line, if Glock caught wind of how easy it was to 101% the 80% to a Gen 4 model. Helpful video. I have 1 CL and it is in need of a new slide, so I might buy a Gen 4 slide and try your technique. Cheers!
