First off, I wanted to say that you have inspired me so much! My parents told me that digital art isn’t real art and that I can’t be an artist. I’m still going to become a doctor because of why they expect, but I am able to do art as a hobby, I recently found my brother’s old iPad. I erased the iPad and downloaded ibisxpaint. It is so fun and I’ve been using all of your videos for inspiration! I’ve created really cool pieces and my parents are impressed! I’m so addicted and I just wanted to tell you that you have opened me to a different world of art!

Tell your parents that digital art is still art, not everything should be on paper, for example, my profile is digital art and still looks nice. You can do anything, don’t let anyone bring you down!

Procreate should seriously create a more automatic way of selecting multiple layers instead of manually selecting ALL the layers you need. Imagine having to select 20-30+ layers manually 😭

@@LocalGooberGoobs The select all copies all the layers but rasterizes it when pasted. It doesnt keep it as separate files. It rasterizes is into one image. And even if you selected all, you’d still have to manually select most layers

To people who say digital art isn’t real art, I have an comparison for you. Think about it this way if you are a writer digitally you still are doing the writing. Digital writers just get more advantages with grammar corrections, composition change, and rewriting. But at the end of the day your still writing. If you use this logic, digital art is real art because yes you do get advantages with straightening lines, layers, and being able to move sections of the piece. But at the end of the day you are drawing and practicing art and that’s all that matters.

I VERY much appreciate how concise this tutorial is. I really prefer that over a 15 minute video that could have been explained in 2 minutes. It was a bit fast but the magic of KZread allows me to pause and rewind a few seconds if needed, which is still preferred over a 15 minute video. Nice job!

This is an amazing tutorial I went onto giphy and even found the exact same on you used but of course my animation was not as good!

You cloud probably download the video, split it to frames, do edge detection, make the edges more continuous and cycle between colors automatically

Quick question: I want to start a Procreate channel, but I learn a lot from your tutorials. Can I copy the art, use it as a base, and change things up a bit as long as I credited you for the base tutorial? I would like to become an artist as well, but mention you so that if anyone were to see it, they'd come to your channel to know where I got these awesome tutorials from. animators projected photographed live-action movie images onto a glass panel and traced over the image. This projection equipment is referred to as a rotoscope, developed by Polish-American animator Max Fleischer, and the result is a rotograph.

Rotoscoping is a very nice way of art but I still prefer the Joel havers style of it, it makes it feel even more alive and human

This might be a good way for someone to learn animation

@@kripageorge5387 I am thinking about doing rotoscope animation for a client but the amount of work terrifies me. Im probably looking at 4 minutes of animation but from the sound of it, this will makes months to complete 😓

@@RayofLightFilms Yeah, if you want to make an animation that's like 4 minutes long, it might take a long time....But if you really want to do it, I would suggest using another app for animation....procreate has a layer limit, which isn't good for long animations.

Now you can add layers to each frame - you can drag a layer on top of another to group them, and they’ll play as 1 frame of the same animation (like if you want to have both a lineart and color layer for each frame)
