Another huge tip is to REALLY keep your knees bent ! When I was learning this trick I would get too comfy just extending my legs when I pushed my foot over the coping. REALLY bend your knees especially when you roll back in and it will be way easier

I nailed my proper first rock to fakie on my own today. Watching this video again (the day before) inspired me to finally get it done. Thank you! 🙌🏼 Adding that clip of you landing an earlier rock to fakie is genius. That's exactly how I felt 🤘 You create super organized and exceptionally straightforward videos. Keep up the awesome work.

Thank you very much! It's extremely relatable to beginners to look at Someone who just learned something and doesn't have tons of balance and experience, so to us beginners it looks more "realistic" !

Great video! One thing I struggle with is weight distribution. In order to push down the front wheels, you have to remove weight from the back foot. Then, in order to lift the front wheels, you have to remove weight from the front foot. How do you handle this weight shifting? Is it like standing on one leg? On the way up, you stand on your back leg. When stalling you stand on the front leg. When riding down fakie you stand on your back leg again? Or how should you think about it? :)

Hey, thanks! If you imagine rolling on flatground and lifting up your front wheels to "tic tac", it feels like pushing down on your tail with your back foot, while simultaneously lifting up your front foot to let the wheels rise - that's how it feels when I'm lifting my front wheels to clear the coping on the way up. When my board is "decked", with the front wheels resting on the deck, it feels like I have weight on both feet (maybe only slightly more weight on my front foot, if I'm trying to stall in that position for longer). And when I'm lifting my front wheels to roll back in fakie, it's a very similar feeling of pushing down on tail while simultaneously lifting front foot away from the ramp, to let the wheels rise. Hope this helps, and hope you can get the hang of this!!

@@RegularJason Great explanation! If I look at 2:41 it looks like the motion is a bit like this: Front foot up, front foot down. Back foot up, back foot down. Front foot up, front foot down. Does it feel anything like that, or is that just how it looks? That is, is there a rhythm you have to find? Another thing, do you "unweight" your body at all? Do you any "down pumping" when you stall to absorb any excess speed from riding up the ramp? And do you do any up pumping to "detach" from the stalled position?

How was it leaning the fakie rock compare to this? I have rock to fakie solid, but haven't tried the fakie rock yet (basically the same exact trick, just going fakie then coming out regular). Any tips on that? Thanks
