How to Restore Your Old OG Jordans
Sneakers aren't made like they used to be... In today's Customs and Restorations with Vick Almighty he restores an OG Olympic Jordan 7! These Olympic Jordan 7s dropped in 1992 and are hands down one of the greatest and most iconic Jordan 7 to ever release (I mean MJ rocked them)! Pro tip... if you can pick up an OG pair of kicks for $150 just do it!
Now these were in decent condition for being older than Vick Almighty himself, but there was definitely some work to be done. The air units were crumbling, the soles needed a reglue, they needed a clean and unyellowing plus a quick repaint!
Deconstruction came first then the prep-work. Prep-work can either make or break a restoration, so this is hands down one of the most crucial part. First we had to prep the midsoles, soles and uppers using acetone and cotton balls. After the main prep was done it was time to clean the sneakers using the RESHOEVN8R Essential Kit, since these are 30 years old it is important to be super careful. Also, NEVER put OG sneakers in the washing machine.
Since it is an older sneaker, oxidation is 100% normal and it can't be prevented, but it can be removed. We used the Vick2000 which features 4500W of UV rays to remove the oxidation; we did not apply any chemicals to this shoe due to the age! While the parts were in the ice box it was time to work on the reglue and replace those crumbled air units with EVA foam.
The steps on this restoration were very minimal, but completely needed. Although these shoes were in fairly good condition they needed a little help. The midsole repaint was added to make the colors on the midsole really pop. Overall this sneaker was well worth the $150 and the restoration turned out amazing.

I had never seen a 7 midsole replacement before, but those Olympic 7s are beautiful OG specimens. We need a retro soon.
Amazing work as usual, the patience it takes to do full restores like this is very underrated. It's very easy to get frustrated and overwhelmed and just walk away from a project because of how long each step takes, but when you have the drive and vision of what they are gonna turn out like when you're done, it's definitely good motivation to keep pluggin through. 👏

Everybody I’ve worked with all say and agree that superstik works better then the other barges and I would agree. I’ve never had issues with this stuff compared to Barge infinity

I hope whoever read's this from your team would seriously consider doing a video on how to properly clean a pair of Jordan 7 Trophy Room's. As always, I love seeing videos like this. It's very informative. I love this video because of the creativity, the information, and admiration, but I feel like a video on the trophy room 7s would be a lot better for a walk through video for the community. maybe not necessarily a "restoration video," but the content for a video regarding the Jordan 7 trophy room would be very useful for people like me. That shoe specifically seems harder to clean than most other shoes because of all the suede/nubuck material. I've been a customer for over 3 years, I only use your products, and I am a subscriber that watches every single video. With that being said, I hope I am the one person who influences Vick/reshoeven8r team to do a cleaning video on the trophy room 7s. That would be amazing! Like/Comment if you agree!

Amazing restore, lots a detail work on 7s to get em back up to snuff. The visible midsole is actual Phylon btw and the uppers are smooth Durabuck, Not leather. That's why we usually see them crack and peel which legit leather next to never does unless it's royally abused, waterlogged, dry rotted, etc. Gotta be careful with those full synthetic OG uppers, same build as the 2004 first retros (which I need to reglue mine but they're 100% Phylon, not just the outer frame, thank God lol)

You work wonders on these shoes! I have a concern about one of my pairs. The upper collar area on my 1994 Jordan 2 retros is drying badly on the inside (I can hear it cracking around when I apply pressure). Exterior seems fine. Anything I can do or have I ruined them? 😬😭

The retro 7s don’t have the same shape air unit anymore. The new 7s have a different shape air unit that wouldn’t fit. Plus I’m thinking about the next 20 years. Replacement air units will have the same outcome as the originals overtime. But it’s a just a personal preference. Nobody will see the “air” on the inside 😉

bro from my understanding, any normal yellowing is caused by UV light from the day to day use out in the sun. But alternatively, hydrogen peroxide with UV removes yellowing
