The end result is much better than the original. However, the new covering is not leather. It is not stitched on, like the old covering was. I can see the wallet bunching on the bottom in less than a year and needing to be replaced again.

I bought a *condup* super fake because I was still undecided on whether I liked it enough to buy the real deal. It arrived and it was great, I didn't need to buy the original one. The attention to detail is amazing and even shows in all the packaging and labels. I don't object to this as it does encourage people to sell them on second hand sites. It does make me feel a certain way about the designers selling these bags. They were selling it for about 10 times what I paid. They are ripping people off. Hermès is the worst at this - I imagine them in the board room laughing at how much people are prepared to pay.

This is just a diy that some will take advantage of. Its your choice if you could purchase one. Still grateful for the tutorial.❤

No it isn't. It won't hold. That adhesive is useless on a leather surface, and after a short time the patch will come of especially in the corners. This repair is totally waste of time and materials.

Я не стала так заморачиваться . Была очень удобная с хорошим размером сумка , внутри всё идеально , но верх облупиося как этот кошелек . Ободрала , обработала грунтовкой для холста и покраска краской для тканей . Прослужила 5 лет .

The problem is that neither the original covering nor the replacement covering is leather. It is polyurethane. Polyurethane is being used everywhere and is an inexpensive way to make your products look like leather, however, they do not last like leather.

I removed all the cracked & chipped pleather from a wallet/card holder I enjoyed for several years. Someone suggested that I paint the exposed body. I plan to try that after my vision improves after cataract surgery. If it does the trick I hope to enjoy the wallet for a few more years. If not, at least I will have tried.

The title says leather, but I have never seen leather surface peeling off like that. Anyway, this repair method is basically applying a sticker over it, which has a high chance of peeling off, especially during high temperature ambient.

Bonded leather is especially prone to peeling, made up of a mixture of real and fake leather, so as to cut costs during the manufacturing process. Leftover scraps from real leather products are taken, then ground into a pulp before being stuck together, after which they are attached to a polyurethane coating.

My shoe has this same exact issue but don't want to throw it away cos it feels very comfortable and I love the shape... Would love to try this pls how can I get the glue leather?
