You didn’t say a word about retightening the adjustment screws ?

Thank you so much for this video. I just bought a Model 1415-16 at the thrift store that I work at and I knew it needed the cutting bar adjusted. Now I can go outside and make the needed adjustment 🙂

Yo no logro que corta la hoja de papel en ambos lados. Si lo calibro de un lado del otro lado no corta y luego lo mismo pasa del otro lado

You don't explain what you're doing with the 4 screws on top. What are they for, and can they be adjusted without loosening the side bolts?

I agree. He skips from the tightening the bolts to adjusting the screws with no explanation. Disappointing. The sharpening kit manual gives more details about how they work.

In the manual it will tell you the inner screw which they call the front screw moves the bedknife away while the screw nearest to you, or the rear screw which it is called, moves the bedknife closer to the blades, it's a balance. The manual says only 1/16th turn at a time.

@@cefarther3945 Thank you. Any idea why he loosened the bedknife side bolts a second time instead of just adjusting the other 4?

Up until 3:35 it only shows how to move the bedknife then immediately he is tightening the 4 screws but doesn't explain what they are or what they're doing.

You know I did this with a Scott’s 14” the other day. I loosened everything including the bolts that allow the bed knife to swing when they’re loose. Then I pushed the bedknife against the reel with good force and tightened the side bolts. From there, the top 4 screws were my micro adjustments. I would do it this way again.
