After 15 seconds, turn key to off, then release accelerator pedal. Wait 5 minutes. Start vehicle and drive for approx 20 minutes, mix of highway and in town driving. Your welcome. The last part is more from my own experience as a mechanic. I don't know how many vehicles this will actually work on. My guess, maybe 2010 and after? Or not do a damn thing. This was painful to listen to.

this is what my 2015 gmc Sierra is doing, it will slip out of 3rd just briefly usually when I am accelerating slowly. this is after I replaced transmission ,did not have the issue before replacing the trans had something differant going on anyway since then I already one time had the TCM supposedly replaced (I wonder if they just re-set it....) it went for about 750 miles with zero issues then back to this odd slipping in 3rd thing again.very annoying and if left alone it just gets worse until I get check engine light and it will really start shift weird then. I am, afraid to even try to reset it . its under warranty but I dont trust this transmission place at this point looking to fix it myself or take somewhere else.curious to hear what yours is doing exactly ngiodsi@@weeniehitjr5527

I ended up getting a switch that connects to the foot gas pedal making more responsive. It helped a little but still get hard shifting once in a while.

@@Gruin Yes, it does reset TPS to TCM, and it is a "relearn", but it will NOT fix a underlying problem, if you have one. I should have clarified that in a later reply. So, yes, it does work, but only if you don't have an underlying problem. So yes, thumbs up for the reset. 👍
