How To Reset The Wifi Settings On A Garage Door Opener ( Liftmaster Craftsman Chamberlain )

Hello! There are several reasons why you may need to reset the wifi settings on your garage door opener.
1. If you've been connected before but something happened and you have to reconnect to your garage door opener ( Try deleting the "garage door" from inside the myQ app as well )
2. You just moved into a new place and the old tenant / owner had their phone connected to that garage door opener
3. You want to erase any trace of an old tenant having access to your garage door opener
4. You may have tried to connect and it and something went wrong and want to start fresh

    If anyone has an iPhone 14 or later reading this.... I tried to get my phone to connect for literally hours, on 3 different days. I have done everything for wifi resets, phone resets, complete factory reset, and no matter what I tried, I could not get my iPhone 14 to work. It would not get to the point where it brought up the list of wifi networks to connect to. After much frustration I decided to try my wife's iPhone 11, downloaded the app, logged in and BOOM - it worked the first time!!! I am so relieved and had to share. Can still use the app on my iPhone 14 to open and close door but just couldnt get it set up that way.

    I have experienced this myself, and you are right, for whatever reason some phones just won’t do it.

    We have a Verizon 5g internet, can't seem to connect the garage opener

    It only works with 2.4ghz as far as I know

    If it’s blinking half half then it’s trying to connect to the router or if solid then it’s added to another gateway

    Ive do this reset 8 times now and i keep getting the message in MyQ app that the garage door opener was previous connected to a MyQ account and it wont reset the memory of the Liftmaster opener

    I’d suggest calling liftmaster support at that point they’re usually pretty helpful

    @@GarageDoorGuidance No, nothing but I did a little digging and found out that it is a MyQ but no wifi on this model. I think there's another app that I might can use for this particular one. Thanks for your response!!

    I’ve run into many instances where I wasn’t able to connect a new device until the previous wifi settings were erased. As time goes on I’m sure this video will be more helpful to many in that scenario

    In my case the resetting of the wifi on my Liftmaster was the easy part. I've spent a good part of the afternoon-early evening following the prompts and no success. Hold middle button til clears, press yellow 3x, go to wall unit and initiate wifi reprogram, back to phone app, connect to the Liftmaster's wifi, connect to home wifi insert password...times out..try again..

    @@PackFan2323 It will not work with the 5G. When you get to the wifi part of the setup, select your 2.4 wifi instead of the 5. This should fix the issue unless you’ve already tried that.

    Depends on what your trying to do. It’s an issue I’ve run into with reprogramming the wifi settings and this is an important step

    The other thing is these run off 2.4ghz wifi so if you only have 5G it won’t work on that one
