It seems like it is designed for you to have to have "help" with it. I did not find this info in the owners manual (I only glanced through the book), it may be there. At any rate, this video was right on time, and helpful. I asked myself, how does it only have 40 likes ?

I have to rewatch this video every single time I change my oil 😂

OK.. since you clearly know what you're talk about Mr klowny... think you'd be able to figure out why my a/c and defroster hasn't worked for several years now? Did the refrigerate re-charge thing.. that didn't work.. and I don't have $1000 that the Lincoln dealership down the road wants to replace it... and when I have the heat on.. no matter the temp, it gets REALLY hot in the car and turning down the temp doesn't work...

Does the defroster setting blow air out of the defroster vents and it's just hot, or does it not switch to defroster at all? If it's the former then it could be a bad compressor, a bad condenser, or some other fault in the system, but those are the two big ones. If it's the latter then your control unit is the problem. From my own experience the A/C system is a tough dragon to tackle. My Escort's control arm for where it blows works fine if you slide it left, but if you slide it right it won't change due to the control wheel under the dash being broken. I'd fix it but I live in Florida where I use the defroster maybe twice a year, so I'm in no rush. I have to manually spin that wheel by hand to get the control arm's internals to slide right. On my 89 Tbird the where-it-blows buttons work fine, but I don't get cold air. I get cool air. The system has pressure, but I need to diagnose where in the system the fault is. Probably clogged lines or a failing compressor in my case. It might not be a direct answer but I hope it works as some inspiration to start beating things with a wrench! :d

Thank you for posting this. All the manual says is to "press the reset button". And evidently from that I'm supposed to deduce everything else!!! Meanwhile, the manual devotes three full pages explaining how to pull up to a gas pump and fuel the car. Not kidding. Who is writing these things??!! Not sure how I survived before KZread how-to videos . . . :-)

Same here ocean side! I've been driving around for 5 years with that stupid message on (well, I hit reset every time I start the car to make it go away, but, that's a pain in the arse), but, thanks to klowny1969, I followed his directions and the f-ing thing finally went away!! No one at oil change place I always go to has EVER been able to figure out the damn thing, so, now that I have it written down and in the glove box, I'll know from now on!

You give all the information correctly and you do it in a timely manner if you could do it in real time our cars would not reset and we wouldn’t have to watch your video 10 times trying to remember what you say the edit you do please too much time in the car goes back to its normal mode so nice job on the right information could you do it in real time I’m probably 100,000 of those views that you have in the last seven years

It's in the owners manual it's a seatbelt reminder bypass or disable. Idk how its worded exactly

This didn't work for 2011 GM....I had to do a system check and during the system check when it is displaying Oil life10% I had to hit and hold "reset" for 2 seconds and then it reset to 100%.

Do this every time I start the car. Shut it of and it again says oil change required

1)Disconet Battery Positive Cable for a few minutes. 2)Reconnect 3) If Check engine light comes back on, it means you have an "active code" that needs to be taken care of.

There are no 2012 on those cars, it's completely stop on 2011 mercury grand marquis
