1999 Ford F150: I started getting heat but no A/C. The mechanic fixed the A/C and replaced the Schraeder valve. But months later I couldn't get any heat. I took it to a second mechanic who said I had a broken blend door, which he replaced as well as the blend door motor. That fixed the problem. But then, months later I couldn't get A/C. Of course, I should have checked that the HVAC was working, but I didn't. As well, this is my second vehicle that I don't use frequently, so I let it go for a while. Coincidentally, my auxiliary power source and radio had not been operating. I thought that the problem would likely be some electrical problem. I resolved to take it to the shop and have it fixed ... when I got time to do that. My next door neighbor who is more mechanically inclined than me offered to look at it. To my surprise (and despite my skepticism) he fixed the problem. He told me he found something on the internet (like your video) and gave it a try. A bonus is that my radio started working. And I have no idea why. If you don't know by now, I'm an idiot when it comes to mechanical things. People like you who publish informative videos like this are wonderful! Thank you,

What's weird is that my radio stopped working the same time the blend door actuator stopped working.

I gave up buying Ford back in the 60's when I came to realize I couldn't afford a Ford which began with C4 automatic transmissions, alternators, starters and a parts list long enough to make a mechanic beg for help.

In all my fuse diagrams, Ford 2013 Explorer, there's not one fuse labeled hvac. What else would it be called? What number is it? tks

On my 2014 f150 the fuse is labeled climate control and it is inside the cab, not under the hood. It is fuse number 46 Edit- it may work for some problems but it didn't work for me.

there's no hvac fuse (I looked ... forever) - you don't turn the ac on (of course, you can't there's no fuse duh) BUT! He was right about the reset working! My Dad was halfway in taking apart the console when I told him to reset it like the video but what fuse? so he started by unplugging the fuse that powers the climate control Then turned the ignition off Then restarted the truck without the fuse that powered the climate control Let it run for 30 seconds with the fuse still unplugged Shut it off Reinserted the fuse Fired it back up and now have heat!!!! This was for an '01 Lincoln navigator

Just to let you know in case you are in need of this information that this guy has no clue what he's talking about sounds like he does but the locations of the fuses that he is referring to does not exist

Avoid the issues that begins with Ford parts with Volvo replacement parts with reference numbers that have no reference to Volvo parts. Example: A Ford tailgate lock has a volvo sticker on it identifying it as 31276957 part so I called up Volvo, told them I needed to replace this part and they came back and told me there is no listing for this number, They asked me what the part was for and I told them it was a tailgate lock for a 2009 Volvo XC70 3,2 cross country station wagon. He laughed and told me it was a Ford part and the part I should refer to is 31276958 but I couldn't handle the price of one so I went to a scrap yard which had the same year, make, model and low and behold, the part number on it was 31253450 which brings confusion to a whole new level. Suffice to say 700 plus dollars for a lock with more plastic parts than metal is not value for money its cheap to make, and makes the profit margins bulge while you look for a place to hide your wallet.

lord jesus people the hvac fuses are the fuses that are for the heat, ac, etc so look at your manual and see which number it is. mine(2016 ford explorer) was a yellow one 15 i think. it was under the hood like he said and the other inside my car

Did you figure out exactly which fuses?

  • @Wiicho

The fuse box for hvac is located at bottom left inside car on the driver side. There’s a cover with a slide. Slide it to uncover the fuse box.

@@Wiicho Easy to check all fuses in the fuse panel by setting your Volt ohm meter on continuity, touch one side of the fuse with one probe and the other probe on the other side of the fuse. If your meter beeps with an audible sound, the fuse is good, if you can't get it to beep, replace the fuse. Be sure your meter has good batteries before you start by touching the probe together as in shorting them out to see if the meter produces an audible beep response.

The blend door actuator can stop AC, video was good, but Mr. Vehicle Freak should speak slower, and use exact wording. He said takeout actuator fuses, start the car and said you do not have to start the car then said turn off the car. Good video, but need to give exact correct information when working on a vehicle.

your stupid insulting knee jerk reaction doesn’t even deserve this response, this works. it turns on the rest of the system and allows a reset to home afterwards.

Oh, surprise, surprise another Ford part with more plastic parts designed to fail with the lowest production price and the highest replacement cost to consumers. So maybe Volvo should think about Toyota parts or Honda parts and put consumers ahead of profit margins ?

Assuming the battery isn't dead or there's an open circuit in which case the fuse may be good, the circuit is bad and the battery won't be able to provide any power assuming it has power to give.
