It was technically stolen along with all my keys, so I had to replace the ignition cylinder.

I know this is an older video, however, for myself I would always be keen to see filmmaking videos from you and the way I see it is if you love it I'm sure thousands of other guys will too :) Share what you love to do brother. From across the pond, Australia 🇦🇺
Hey this advice might help someone I know it helped me. A lot of those old ignitions like that didn't actually use the tumblers to activate the accessory feature. All you have to do if you don't have the key is stick a flat head screwdriver in and get the flathead screwdriver to go in far enough to turn the assembly push the pin hole in with a paper clip and it pulls right out. Again this might not work for everyone but it definitely works for me hope this helps
I love those old Ford Pickups too. They’re quite fancy.
I love the snap teleporting Mr. Voss. Nice video editing touch.
Hey man thank you!!! you where the only one that did this kind of video and showed you had to use paper clip to install ignition cylinder. i knew you had to remove it just didnt know you did to install! and was doing this at night
Thanks for the video..it helped me..I bought a 1977 ford f150...with no keys.
Okay great video. Hey coz use q-tips resending clean out the metal shavings.
Love the truck man! I subscribed
Great video and helpful! I have a 66 F100 that I lost the keys to so I'll be using your method. One thing though Mr Fabricator; wear eye protection when there is flying metal near your face!
was just looking for ignition wiring videos for 1969 mustang...stumbled on this. you're hilarious dude.

Thank you!
That looks like a strate truck have fun I love to watch
Man, useful and fun!
That snapping finger edit thing was awesome. I don't how you could keep doing that but that could be a thing.
U have it out just unplug it and plug the new one in
I drilled mine out with a machine vice and drill press. That way I kept it centered and I set the stop on the press to keep from drilling too deep.

Let me translate for this guy... "What a pain it is to remove the ignition tumbler with the amount of years it has. I have the same machine, I'm sure it's a 68 like mine, the only thing is that the one I have has a diesel engine with a floating rear differential, same color. An excellent collection of pieces and even more with that peculiar original color".
Great video glad I found one that could help on this. It’s much easier to work on if you unplug from the wiring harness and remove the entire ignition.
So I need to no how to hook up the wires apart. Someone unhooked it all. Do u have a video for that
Sir, you deserve a lot more views and subs, keep it goin! Don't forget to remember this comment when you will be in the top 10 of youtubers
how do u tighten it
What size drill bit did he say that he used I'm doing mine right now
Just what I wanted to know drill time going with 9 32s may God be with me thanks 😊 🙏
Call it pit man
Stupid question but did you see if the new keys fit in the original switch before drilling it out?

Good question
Phew 👍🏼
I have the exact same problem. Lost key for my 69 F100. I have thought of doing this same thing but my question is what do you do about the door locks? My old ignition key also fit the door locks so if I replace the switch like you did I'm also going to have to replace the door locks on both doors and then I'm going to have two keys to keep up with instead of one. I wonder if it would be easier and cheaper to have a locksmith make a new key? Can a locksmith easily do that? Cool video! You got a subscription from me.

My old key never fit the door locks, from the factory back then wasn’t it always two keys? I never had the door keys so that will be something I have to deal with also.

This is an old post but thought I'd reply anyway. I have a 62 merc that I lost the keys for. I was able to purchase an ignition switch with matching door locks. It was a complete kit and wasn't that terribly priced.
Metal shaving will cause a short,,use air to blow it out
when i put my bezel and stuff back in it just spins around in there and doesn’t actually mount. any ideas?

It’s been awhile since I did this but I feel like I remember a kind of key slot in the dash that locked the actual housing in place. Maybe yours is gone so the only thing I could think is a washer to maybe allow you to tighten it enough?
My old truck smokes like that when it sits for a long time. Just like my butt when I've taken a dump for a long time.
Nice. Is this truck ever making it back on the channel?

@@JustVoss I was struggling with these parts. I didn't know you needed the paperclip to put the cylinder back into the switch. Haha thanks for this
lets see some more vids of the 69, Ive got one myself at home. four link sus, crown vic front end swap, 6.0 LS with outcast autoworks motor mounts. 22 gal mustang EFI tank from tanks inc. I cant wait to finish it and we def need more videos on the tube of these trucks!
I have a 1977 f-100 and I can’t find the key for pay😂
Why didn't you use one of those new keys to try while using a paperclip in the hole
So did you get home ok ???
