@@Daddicated The main reason is the use of shelving instead of plywood , and use of shelving to make the supports ,brilliant idea .

It looks so nice when you finished, that I would have replaced those rusted escutcheons. You can cut the old ones off and use the ones which are hinged to open up to go around already installed pipes.

Good stuff boss. I was thinking of changing the cabinet instead. This video saved me the hassle 🙏🏾. Could I just use a drill bit to make holes for the pipes? I'm planning on changing the countertop and sink as well

don't use pressed wood--- that is why it is rotten... but since you did get one of the dish tub and put under pipes or cookie sheets so if it leaks again... you will catch the water.

Spend the extra and buy real plywood, you can buy small 2x4 foot sheets reasonably. That pressed wood will swell like a balloon with just one little leak.

This was done during 2020 when plywood was super expensive and hard to find.

LOL, It was a little pricey back then. If I had to use that laminate board, I would have probably sprayed it with that truck bed rubber coating. I've had horrible battles with that sawdust board.
