@@NoMoreLeaks ordered a weathertech; have had one in the past. the govee is probably cheaper than the b-hyve but so far the b-hyve has been stable connectivity wise. i have a govee temp monitor at my mother's apt but connectivity is erratic, FWIW

these mats protect the cabinet floor, nothing else. So it doesn't matter what you use as long it doesn't let water get to the floor.

I agree to some extent. I considered a pan of some sort--let's be real, we are all looking to save where we can and under the sink where no one looks is almost like throwing money out the window. But a pan would have to be the size of a cookie sheet for the spacing of the plumbing under my sinks. Asking metal to protect a cabinet seemed like it would be worse if water got around it undetected. At least silicone won't leave a rust mark. I figure $35 a sink now could make for a bigger payday when it comes time to sell the house--when I'm painting the walls I won't have to worry about replacing an ugly base of a cabinet.
