what did yoi gap them at?i have the ecoboost turbo and finding mixed gaps

I believe these were pregapped to .028 but as long as you are from .028 to .032 you are in the clear.
in general, how often should the spark plugs be replaced?

There are a lot of different factors that come into play with spark plugs. If you use the basic cheap (copper core) plugs and your vehicle is non-turbo, expect every 30k to 50k. However, most modern day vehicles that have a coil on plug require an iridium plug, these can last 60k to 120K miles. If your vehicle is boosted then I would change them out about 10K miles earlier.

If its only a plug change, and you're a novice. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour. Quicker if you have some experience.

depends how degraded the coil clips are... mine were really hard to release and i partially broke 3 or 4. I was also doing it in the rain and at night LOL

Yes it was, code was random misfire. Spark plugs fixed the misfire, but the torque converter also had issues makenit studder under load, and the customer did not proceed with that fix.
