Great video! Curious my 12 Santa fe the oil pressure light only comes on at idle. Otherwise great and oil level is good. Do you think mine could also be the switch or oil pump perhaps? 12 santa fe 3.5L thx you for the vid!

If you can find someone with a good scanner, have them check oil pressure standing still and driving around. If the light is on only at idle, usually it means it's reading less then 10psi of oil pressure. Could be time for an oil change, could be a little low on oil, could be weak oil pressure switch or even a weak pump. But you really need to know the oil pressure at idle and while moving.

Any recollection of how long it took, start to finish for the job? Ballparking whether it's worth fixing my 2012 or just scrap it.

If you have the tools and a basic understanding of mechanics, I would say three hours if you never did it before. The hardest part for me was buying the open end wrench just to take gringer to it. But now I have that tool for the next vehicle.

What code is showing for this problem? Is it P0552?

P0552 is a power steering code. There might be a sensor in your power steering pump. Never really had this issue arise before. I can do some investigating if you want me to.

Getting that changed for $1,500. Insanity.

What type of cruel car designers put an oil pressure sensor in a valley like that? Ugh !
