A well produced video, but it fails to adress some key points (navigation buttons that stick to the screen, the iOpeners heat being too weak and the device cooling down while reheating the iOpener for example). Also, try this with any S5 that hasn't been repaired yet and the amoled screen will crack as it is glued to the midframe. While I understand that these video's are set up just to show the basic steps, alot of people will destroy something that they didn't see in the video and will panic.

This method gives a 50% chance of success))) .. According to the technology needed to use mobile drying (rg-202) or equivalent.

A couple years late?

Having done this repair many many times, I can assure you it's glued in very well and you will break the LCD taking it out

So how do I take it out properly? I don't want to break it because I'm just trying to clean the connections.

Seifenopa i repair these for a living at an offical samsung repairer. and just using the samsung equipment is trocky to not break lcds but to ensure the tape works heat to 65 degrees use a special alchohol that weakens the tape around the edges into the craxks and use suction cups while lifting and placinf the picks undee the edges of the screen

Anyone had any luck with attempting to just raise the screen enough to be able to reseat the LCD connector without having to remove the entire screen? Wife's phone gets the static screen thing sometimes and suspect it may be loose connector.

Fontgod yeah I just press the screen in around the digitizer spot. you can sometimes hear a little click

3 years later?! the S5 is 170$ now it doesn't worth it to buy a display for 100$.
