If your phone is not touch-responsive after a drop do this: Seeing where the cables attach I only had to remove the back cover and push a little bit on the body at that place against the screen. After half a year it can detect my touch again and I can unlock it and do everything as usual! Great thanks!

Well done, sir! By watching your vid I was able to successfully replace my broken screen! A minor nit from a newbie "telephone tech": It took me a bit to figure out what exactly I was supposed to remove from the two lighted display pads at the bottom of the case (I almost opted to just pull them out, vice scrape off the glue, since I they just appeared as two large black blobs of glue intended to support the screen just at the bottom of the case). Again - many thanks!

+npeeksilva Did it work? Did it sense your touch movements afterward? I'm about to do this with my S5 and am gathering all the information I can ahead of time, thank you!

@@YellowYoshi398 yes it works! I'm writing this message from the phone i repaired 😊. The lack of touch sounds like a fault with the new screen. The only thing i would recommend is maybe very carefully clamping or putting some heavy books on the phone after you replace the screen to make sure it adheres. I was having a few little lines appear on my screen but that was because the connection was loose. Just needed to sit on the phone a bit 😁

@@npeeksilva Thank you!! Very informative and helpful. I have heard some testimonies from people who say the touch screen doesn't work which I assume is probably due to them not adhering the screen tightly enough as you described. I'm curious, where did you buy your replacement screen from, and how much did you pay? There are a lot of these from Chinese sellers on eBay for around ~$30, which strikes me as rather dubious, but at the same time I have a feeling they are probably selling the exact same product that is being sold on Amazon for ~$80.

@@npeeksilva I'm happy to say that I, too, am now writing this message from the phone I repaired using this method! Your tip about putting the phone under some heavy books to make it adhere came in handy. Thanks! For me, the most difficult part was inserting the clip into the socket (what he does at 6:47). You don't have to be SUPER careful when doing this, but it is hard to line the ribbon cable up correctly, get it to insert and get it to stay inserted. Took me about an hour and a half and MANY attempts just to do that, lol. If anyone happens to read this and wants to know, I bought a replacement Galaxy S5 replacement LCD screen + digitizer from a Chinese eBay seller for around $30. Saved 50 bucks compared to Amazon, and it worked fine!

Hi, I was pulling my phone apart and the screw on the back (below R1) had threaded and I slipped and damaged the pins under the home button ribbon, but I can still use the home button but i can only use the top portion of the phones sensitivity. The rest of the touch screen doesn't work. Please help?
