    I have a Generac GP7500E made is 2014. The engine was surging/hunting. Cleaning the carburetor with spray stuff didn't fix the problem so I decided to change the carburetor, $100 for parts, 2 day shipping and sales tax. These directions were PERFECT. It saved me time and Hundreds of Dollars. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    I have been trying to get my Powerland 4000 Honda clone generator running since about this time last fall. Since I have always cut the fuel and let the carb run dry that was the last thing I expected, but I put a new one on today following your instructions in this video and it ran on the first pull. My generator looks almost exactly like the Champion in your video and the carb., fuel valve and air intake are identical. I have been subscribed to your video's since I found this one over the last year. Thanks for this video. It saved me from getting rid of a perfectly usable generator.

    I have an 18 year old Honda powered 8,000 Watt Generac wired up to my house via a Transfer Panel. Just in case, I keep a spare Honda carb on hand in case I need to change mine out after a Hurricane. Haven't had to use it yet, but if I need it running during an extended outage, I don't want to spend time rebuilding and troubleshooting. The complete carb cost $5.00 more than the Honda rebuild kit.

    Now that is what I call a super amazing instruction video Thanks for posting it and now I can change my carburetor on my new Champion 4000 that was not used till I needed it and would not start. I could start it with "quick start fluid" sprayed into the carb and it would run for 5 seconds and then quit. My guess is that the carb is plugged with old fuel.

    Nice video! I have the same generator. A couple of years ago, I ordered a cheaper carburetor on ebay and it gave me problems after a while. I spoke to the people at Champion tech support. They said to use their parts and use 5W 30 oil after the the generator is broken in.

    Never use 5W30 in the south (Texas, GA, FL) etc, for hurricane outages. It will blow. 15W40 is robust and will last longer between changes if you forget to change it.

Replaced the carb, got the speed adjusted but now it stalls when a load is applied, even a small one like 500 watts. I played with the mixture screw, got it to stay running under load but it slows right down. Any clue? Thanks!

  • @WaveAction777
    @WaveAction7774 жыл бұрын

    donyboy73, do you have a link to where you get your carburetors from, this one in particular? My champion generator would only run on half choke, with choke fully off it would just surge up and down. Cleaned out the carb, all passages including the 5 pin holes inside on the throttle side and now doesn't even want to start. If I squirt gas directly into carb it will run for a split second only. Bowl fills up with gas no problem, float was tested after assembly by blowing into it right side up then upside down.

    Greetings, I have a 3.5hp Briggs push mower that's giving me some grief. Last time I ran it, I had to disassemble and free up the starter clutch (left out uncovered all winter) and pulled the carb and cleaned everything and reassembled it. Prior to the carb clean it would run ok but pop every once in a while. After the work, I started it to make sure it ran and it was like new, but I shut it off after a few seconds and let it sit for about a week. Now it cranks fine (feels like good compression) and it won't start. It fires through the muffler and the carburetor sometimes. It ran for about half a second and died...I've pulled the plug a few times to clear out any fuel and make sure it isn't flooded. I didn't hit anything so I'm not really leaning towards a sheared flywheel key but I'll be damned if the symptoms don't line up.

    I'm replacing carburetor on an older champion generator right now...it is a 389cc model...needle valve was frozen stuck in seat and when I pulled it out it broke in half...unfortunately the only replacement needle I could find online for this carb was 13 dollars plus shipping...for 22 dollars mind as well get brand new carb with fuel solenoid and all...why in the world do they have a starter recoil that you can pull if battery dies yet it has a fuel solenoid in....the fuel solenoid is going to be shutting the fuel jet closed if the battery is dead and not giving it the voltage it needs to open...so how can you pull start it with fuel solenoid anti backfire valve closing off main jet? Dumb design or am I missing something?
