Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If your small engine wont start, it might need the carburetor replaced. We installed a new carburetor on a generator, but this how to applies to all small engines. Instead of a rebuilt carb, consider buying a new one. More lawn mower tune up vids: goo.gl/q6lpWQ

16 point sockets usually take care of that "female" torx bit issue.. Ethanol free gas FTW I'm a generator technician btw. Comments are correct, carb can be cleaned. Personally it's ok. Professionally it's not, we replace with new and warranty can be available. ' A clean one is a happy one ' Good universal advice

great to hear from an expert. My thinking is with carbs being pre-set and not easy to rebuild, it would be cheaper time-wise and frustration-wise to spend the money on a new one. thx Tyson!

Another wonderful video! Just a thought, a lot of folks don't have the $100 for a new carburetor, and small engine carburetors take almost no time to clean. A $4 can of carb cleaner, a thin piece of wire and about 10 minutes is all it takes. If you haven't tossed the old one yet, take it apart and have a look. There should be 2 screws with holes in them (jets) and a needle and seat valve in the float bowl. It's a useful thing to know how to do for someone with as many small engines as you have. One tip, wear safety glasses when using carb cleaner. It will splash back out of the float bowl and into your eyes. Every. Damn. Time.

good points, and for those who know how to do a rebuild, its the way to go. but i think there are a lot of people who don't have the skills and knowledge for the rebuild, but might be able to switch out a carb.

You're right, some folks might not be comfortable disassembling a carb. I hope I didn't sound snarky or judgmental, just sharing ideas.

Thank you Eric,ok a quick update on the new mated queen was in the hive doing well until today sometime .i checked the poly nuc tonight for sugar water and heard no buzzing suited up I took the cover off to find the hive empty. The strange thing is a scout/lure box was being scouted yesterday during the afternoon and I'm thinking the colony moved to the scout box. As it absconded from the poly nuc. Total bummer as the queen had only been there since Friday 28 April. Queens are cheaper in the USA I think, here a mated buck fast was £40 around $60. Time will tell how the box is doing I'm gonna give it a week or 2 for them to settle. All the other occupied hives are doing great empty boxes and hives ready to do splits when needed. And yes your a good mechanic lol.

Experience yes for the most a great one, trying to learn from a select bunch of keepers. The way I look at it every bee that comes back with pollen or nectar gives me a buzz, excuse the pun. Helping bees survive in turn helping our Eco system survive is a great way of looking at it, Our neighbor is looking to getting into bee keeping,we are trying to help him get setup. He's using a langstroth deep and supers, but his frames need starter strips and lure to try and get a swarm. It would be nice when you have time to see the hives in top of the building where you showed the Statue of Liberty. Please excuse me I'm in the uk and haven't been to the states yet.

Be sure to keep all your old parts, plugs, etc. for emergencies. Also, I will also echo what others have said. Cleaning the current carb is not that difficult and saves you some time. Also, look into a product called Sea Foam. It is a gas additive that works miracles on old, cranky engines like this. I have rebuilt a LOT of old two stroke and four stroke scooters that went from wheezing to purring with just a bit of Sea Foam.

I have a dual fuel generator. I have never put gasoline in it. Im assuming that i dont need to run it every month like I do my other gasoline generator, would that be correct?

Hey Eric I hope your doing good and the bees are doing well. We got another 2 nuc's of bees last Friday 4/28/17. That made 4 colonies in total and another mated buck fast queen. Both colonies are rocking, one colony has grown so fast we've added a second brood chamber it was 7 frames full of bees within 7 days. I'm sorry to anyone not interested in bees and just mechanics. Lol I like the idiot check list.

A good idea is to turn the gas valve off and let it run out of gas on its own, when you are done for the day. This will keep the gas from gumming up again if you don't use it again for awhile. If the carb is empty, it will stay clean.

yes, running out the carb is good. the stabilizer will help neutralize the ethanol that damages the carb parts too. thx!

Good work ! I think, it is not a mixture with oil, fuel (normally) can`t be ruined only by time. Maybe after years rust from the tankcan be in there, but wouldn`t it be better to put it through a filter and to use a permanent fuel filter within the gasoline hose ?

this was fun to get started quickly. many comments here about spraying out the carb and rebuilding it, but i think for some, a quick switch of parts would be easier than a rebuild. not sure why people don't use gas stabilizer. thx!

Take carb off, disassemble, metal parts in synthetic mineral sprits, clean the in mineral spirits, plastic and rubber away from mineral spirits. Assemble, tune carb if applicable, good to go. Lot cheaper than a new one, and can work for a good while, usualy as long as the engine if well maintained.

Also use ethanol-free gasoline to reduce/eliminate your gas problems. You can find stations that sell it here: pure-gas.org/ I use it everywhere except my cars as it's more expensive and ethanol gasoline isn't a problem if you use it up regularly.
