New Rack & Pinion Assembly from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASTG00008
The rack and pinion assembly transforms the turning motion of your steering wheel to the push and pull motions that turn the front wheels of your vehicle, as well as adding the power assistance. If the steering rack on your vehicle is leaking, or damaged in some way, you might need to replace it entirely. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ power steering rack and pinion assembly on your 2001-2007 Toyota Sequoia.

Wow, your video is amazing. I was able to do the whole job by myself and thanks to your list in the description I had every tool I needed on hand before my car was in drive able. But I had some major BS happen to me… literally the last thing I was doing was tightening down the two hydraulic lines on top and on the second one the actual housing with the threads cracked in half 😡 so now I have to do the entire job over again lol but it’s going to be much easier the second time. Thank you for you amazing video 👍 and thank goodness for warranties

Did you replace the o-rings on the power steering lines that feed into the steering rack? I didn't see that but I believe it's recommended?

The flare nuts are 15 and 17. There is no 16. Nice video besides that. With the right tools, you can get a torque wrench on the center bolt. Or just move sway bar out of way. You’ve got torque specs mixed up. Per the FSM, 22mm nut is 96. Vertical one you couldn’t torque is 122. Both on right side bracket at 122.

Great video, just bought your rack from 1A for our 2006 Tundra. Do you have a part number for the OEM shaft coupler just in case ?

Just did an 02 sequoia. I changed the rack and pinion , all power steering lines, all 4 camber bolts/sleeves/nuts , both lower control arms, both lower ball joints, both outer tierods, and sky bar links. It's been one hell of a job. But now adding fluid to power steering resivour and im not able to get it to breed any advice? I have it ¾ full and turning wheel both ways to stop and not getting much of any fluid level change it's staying at ¾ full.

+@aliciawilliams5545 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Great job...Unfortunately 18 months ago i went to a shop to get a rack and it was cheaper to get the reman rack $800 vs an original for $1300.Boy did i get screwed.Your site sells an original rack not reman for $364.00.I do not trust shops anymore, it is just gross. My truck makes a noise whenever i turn it and i'd rather have my old rack on which was smoother than this reman.

Good lord the rust. I seriously would have stopped doing auto repair professionally if I had stayed living in the northeast. I remember torches, rusted bolts breaking, lots of penetrating oil, etc etc. I am older now and absolutely would not have the patience for this BS anymore. Thankfully the past 23 years I have lived in FL and AZ. No dealing with rust
