You My friend is a life saver. My machine had suddenly stop working after a piece of clothing had gotten caught in the lint trap because I had forgot to put it back after empty it. I heard a dislodging noise I quickly open the door to find out the lint tray was not there(oops) Immediately I thought it was the belt. I took the top off and check the belt and the belt was intact. After watching your video, I learned about the rollers and still wasn't sure if it was my motor that got blown out. I started to tug the drum forward a couple of time to make sure it was sitting on the rollers. I started the machine and still no spin. I tugged the drum again forward with two hands and gave it a good pull. I started the machine again and voila!! You just save me $400. Thank you so much for your tutelage and God bless you my friend!!!!!! Big Thank You Sir!!!!

This was an awesome experience. For those run into fan issues you have to use a heating gun to remove the glue from the bolt. The newer models are glued tight. Heat up the bolt then you will be able to remove the fan from motor. FYI, make sure that you have plenty of time to get this done. I greatly appreciate this video and others. THANKS!!!!!

Broke a file trying to pry it off and almost broke a screw driver before deciding to go through comments. The little hard green stuff at inside of the bolt should have told me something was up. Probably glued it because it was too easily fixable.

YES! Turned out my motor didn't have the broken plastic arm, but one of the tiny nubs on the brass arms that actuate the plastic arm had fallen off. I decided soldering that back on wasn't likely to be a durable repair so replaced the motor. While I was in there I replaced the belt and tensioner and vacuumed out a fair amount of accumulated lint. The only trouble I had was removing the control panel. Mine has several plastic clips that have to be pushed from odd places to release. It went back together easily, once I figured out how to route the belt - the tensioner pulls the outer (left as you're looking from the front) side of the belt back toward the center. Fired it up when done and, holy cow, it is quiet! We hadn't realized how noisy it had become as the belt aged (6 years). Thanks MB!!

Can't thank you enough brother. Was a challenging repair for me, especially since I used a 9/16 because my deep dish sockets ended at 13mm and the fan nut was locked in super tight. Appreciate the detail and time you took to make the video!

Thank you so much for posting this video. It helped immensely taking apart our dryer. We just had a stuck sock in the filter turbine. Took me about 15 min the whole job, and took the opportunity in cleaning the inside of the dryer. Great video!!!!

Great step-by-step procedure for the motor replacement. I probably wouldn't have attempted this repair with out it. Thank you for making this video! The biggest challenge that I had was putting the belt back on the motor shaft and tensioner pully. Here's a helpful hint: used a small bar clamp to keep the tensioner locked straight up. After positioning the belt around the motor and tensioner you can then remove the bar clamp.

i like that this machine doesnt hide any of its screws. still a thousand times harder than it needs to be to take apart, but for a samsung its almost not a pain in the ass

@@DIYwithMichaelBordersi just did this, it ended up being a pokemon card stuck in the impeller that was folded over and wedging it in place. i didnt have to replace the motor.

@@wompstopm123 Thanks for the follow up, a Pokémon card is believable. The reason we say that is because they’re EVERYWHERE in our house. We have seen them on the floor in our laundry room a few times over the years. We always yell, come pick up your Pokémon cards. 🤣

Brother, I really appreciate you for leaving this video out there but that's why cuz we need help. Everything I've been doing so far is going smooth thanks to you but stuck with a fan. It's stuck to that nut with a thread on it. It's not releasing it and I don't want to do anything else to break it. Could you please tell me what's my other solution?

replaced everything the correct way and the drum still struggles to turn. it turns for a few seconds then turns off

For anyone following this, take the fan off before you release the mounting clips for the motor. That fan is a huge bitch and will not come off easily if the motor is loose.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders this is becoming a nightmare. I got the fan blade off by removing the entire housing with the motor and blade attached. Then I took my hammer and tapped it out. There’s no way that thing was coming out any other way. Anyway, all seemed well until I installed the new motor and found that the fan blade doesn’t fit the bolt shape on the new motor. The bolt shape on the new motor is a full circle whereas on the fan blade it has that straight edge. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong motor so I searched the specific model number from the old motor and it appears that this is just how they sell the motors now(at least on Amazon). Ok, so I thought maybe I’ll just have to buy a new fan blade that fits the new motor. THE FAN BLADES HAVE THE SAME OLD SHAPE HOLE! 🤦🏻‍♂️ WHY?! So the fan blades are not compatible with the motors. I guess my only option now is to call Samsung directly, unless maybe you have a link to the right parts? Edit: I just followed your link for the motor and the motor showing on there is exactly what I have. The one you have in the video is not the same. They’ve changed the motor without changing the fan. This is nuts.
