I LIKE THE WAY YOU NAME THE PARTS AS YOU REMOVE THEM, MOST DON'T! I HAVE A 5.3 IN MY 2000 SUBURBAN ! STUCK LIFTERS SO THIS IS THE VIDEO I NEED! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE DETAILED VIDEO.
Absolute one of the best Clear step by step process of removing heads intake...
You are bad ass, great videos all 4 of them. You gave me the courage to do it my self.
love the videos man! You helped me gain the confidence to replace things in my engine that needed replacement. I am an auto part salesman and I know a lot, but don't have the actual experience so I get nervous on big projects like this. I have come across a 2002 Chevy Avalanche with almost 400k miles on it! I would love to take it to 1 milli and you saved this engine I have. I got this vehicle for free by the way, so i'm taking full advantage of what I have. What a powerful engine Id have to say. I own a brand new Subaru and the old chevy takes the cake all day long.
Yep fixing to do the same thing to my 6.0 in my caddy thanks for making it easier
can also loosen all the rockers and pull all out in one shot leaving them on the shaft placing both sets on the bench in the same orientation they go in the truck good job tho 🤙🏼

I see so you won't have to put it one by one.
Just a suggestion i usually use hose grip pliers to grasp at boots spark plug wires, twist to break the seal then just pull the boot off
I drained my coolant from my thermostat, therefore I can avoid draining it from the hose? Just the two 10mm bolts on the thermostat housing
Are the coil pack mounting brackets (assembly?) interchangeable between the sides of the engine?
Can I leave the push rods and rockers in?. I'm just removing driver side to replace cylinder 1 valve lifter.
Is it worth the trouble to replace the lifter if its incredibly dirty in there with build up? Thank you for this video
How do you remove the connectors that have a blue and green color, the ones to the top of the ignition coils
Brake clean on coolant hose and ac belt?
Is ALL of this necessary to get under the heads?
Can we replace the rockers with new ones and the and push rods as well? Or keep the same ones

check the ends of push rods. if the hole looks bigger and has more wear marks then the rest id replace it and most likely the rocker that push rod was joined with youll see the cup of the rocker will be worn the same way the pushrod is. either way id def. replace the stock trunnions with a set with retainer clips.
So what happens if one lifter is put in upside down? Or is there a way to tell?

I assume you could put it in wrong but you would tell pretty quick when running the engine you… the spot that rides on the camshaft is round and the other side is pretty flat
Working through this right now. Is it necessary to remove the valve body? You said "just so you can see why these fail", and I'm wondering if that was just a show and tell.
You need a lot more light!!
Save your wrist get some power tools

I agree, I’d definitely use an electric ratchet when removing, but I’d hand tighten everything upon reinstalling. some people like to feel like men tho 😹💪🏽

I’m wondering if the bottom end of my 05 with 343k miles is worth putting new lifters in? Engine is quiet and runs great other than occasional collapsing lifter.

Don't build muscle with power tools.

What did you charge for this job? Also if I may. I usually use Bungies to hold back wiring or hoses for a cleaner easy pull of intake. I liked the non use of power tools btw. Don't listen to these other people
