In this video I replace a kitchen sink from cast iron to stainless steel. The common problems you may run into are: leaking shutoff valves when you turn them back on, pipes the wrong length after the swap and under-tightening the new drains thus causing leaks. If you are set on buying stainless steel, it is worth it to spend the extra money for a good one. Make sure the sink is deep and the metal thick! It matters! Best of luck on your repair.

Didn't need to leave a comment, don't usually leave comments but felt that I had to in this case. THIS is how a "how to" video should be made. Explains everything even the small stuff because not everyone is an expert. Made a mistake, didn't edit it out, used it as a teaching tool. Great job all round. Thanks

I'm a 70 year old grandma replacing my kitchen sink for the first time. I recently finished painting my house, shed and all the porches and railings. Replaced the horizontal and base exterior trim that was rotten, was up on my roof painting the dormer. Installed a screen door. Removed a kitchen cabinet that was out over a peninsula bar counter to open the space more. Patched the opening with dry wall, painted, and cut the molding to fit. Plan to paint my oak kitchen cabinets soon by using grain filler first, sand til smooth and then paint. I have no fear of replacing my kitchen sink (and disconnect the RO system too), thanks to this video. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I'm a 70 year old female replacing a kitchen sink and faucet for the first time. You have taken my fears away.

I'ma 56 year old replacing a kitchen sink for the first time.
And thanks! .....for NOT having 30 seconds of loud music, etc as an intro. !! I appreciate you are quick and concise. Few words! Good.
I came back here after installing our Kitchen sink, just to say thank you for the excellent tutorial you made! Casual perfection! Very well done.
I greatly appreciate the amount of care you take to explain everything thoroughly
Man I am so confident after watching your video. Bro, this was great! Saturday is the day lol!
I put in a new sink that uses those clips two days ago. Oddly enough, I installed the old sink with a roommate over 42 years ago, lol! I guess I got my nickel's worth out of the old sink. My install was miserable due to tight spaces that didn't allow my hands to install the new clips. Finally, I invented a tool made by drilling a hole in the end of a sawed-ff broom handle that allowed me to lift the new clips, slip them in the rails, and position them correctly. I hope I am dead before I have to do that again, six hours under a sink was awful. I also had to trim drain pipes, just like you showed. Great video, thanks for posting it!
This is the video I was looking for. Easy to understand, clear and nicely edited. Great job!
This video helped SO much. Went from a 2 drain ceramic sink to a single drain stainless steel and this video addressed everything. Thank you!!!
When cutting plastic pipe with a saw you should always deburr the pipe inside and outside, otherwise solid stringy particles can get caught on inside burrs and build up restriction. This is especialy true for bathroom vanity drains, hair catches on the burrs.
one of the best DIY videos I've seen. You and your son should have a TV show.
Just what I needed. I have been in construction and built my own cabinets but when you are out of it for so long. These KZread's are awesome reminders as I was just looking for what type of clip to use as the sink was used.
Great video! I am a DIY guy and I learned a bunch of "little" tips to make it go easier! Thank you!!!
This is an EXTREAMLY helpful video. Covers everything in simple detail. Thanks so much.
Exactly what I needed to see. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Much appreciated! 👍
I can't thank you enough for doing such a thorough and easy to follow video!

Clear explanations. Like how you took the time to clarify and explain the small things. Thank you!
I’m starting a job with a kitchen/bath renovation company. Some of the work will be a little out of my regular wheelhouse so I really appreciated this video.
This was put together very well, thank you
Exactly what I needed so I could get all the supplies and feel confident about replacing our kitchen sink tomorrow. Thank you!

You did such a great job explaining. I almost want to do my replacement myself 😎👷🏼
Very good video that was straight to the point. Everyone knows that plumbing can be a nightmare...you made it a dream.
Thanks for posting this video. I had a very similar situation and was able to do all the work myself thanks to this guide. Took me about 4 hours on my own but I work slowly.

“this old house” WHO?! First time I’m looking into a diy project without having to reference 11 different videos for all the information I need. You’re doing Gods work with these tutorials partner.

Bro! You rock! Thanks for this video, very helpful 🙏🏻
I am getting ready to replace a stainless steel 2 tub sink to a stainless steel 1 tub sink. Currently have a disposal but am getting rid of it as my pipes are not the best under the house and gets plugged if the disposal is not used correctly. Having kids has caused me to snake it 3 times. I am just going to get rid of it and all food will go in a container now and then thrown away. Plus I will have more room under my sink for storage. I absolutely loved the clear, direct and simple instructions given so that even a woman and her daughter can do this. Thank you so much! I have always enjoyed DIY and learning new things. I like to know I put the work into my own home!
Really helpful! Thank you for sharing..
Nicely done. Very clear and straightforward.
awesome job . Don't forget to pop the dishwasher cap with a screwdriver or something.

yes, i had to learn that lesson the hard way! I couldn't figure out why the dishwasher wouldn't drain. LOL.
I just got the new kitchen sink installed. Thank you for all your assistance.
Thank you so much it helped me a lot now I can put in my sink. Thank again.
Your video was very helpful. We saved some money. Thank you!
That's great guide, man. Every word, every shot right to the spot.
I like that tool. Just installed a new one yesterday.... that tool would've been handy.
This was short & sweet which made my project short & sweet! Thanks!!!
Thank you, Adam. This is very helpful and detailed.
Recently updated my kitchen sink for the first time, a lot of your advice was spot on and really helpful! However one snag I ran into was I thought a 22”x33” sink was a 22”x33” sink….i was wrong!!!! 😂 I spent a bit of time, sweat and many many profanities with a jigsaw cutting my counter top to make room for the new sink. My handyman work was….lets just say, less than professional looking, but fortunately the new sink covered it up…mostly…thanks again! Cheers!
more silicone or putty is better than less great video perfect explanations and your on point! \
Saved as my favorites!! Awesome!!
Nice job on the video. When tightening the sink-counter clamps (from beneath) I put a little piece of tubing on the end of my long screwdriver, it eliminates a lot of frustration trying to center the screw and screwdriver.
this was really valuable information thank you
Thank you so much! This helped us so much with our install!
I think you did a nice job explaining. I want to switch from a 50 year old sink to a stainless steel. Now I know to look for a heavier one :-)). TY.
Excellent job! Crystal clear.
One of the best diy videos... Thanks
thanks for sharing this video. i'll be doing this very shortly
Thx for the tip on the disposer tool.
You might mention a bit on removing the disposal drain plug for the dishwasher, just in case they put in a new disposal unit. Good video.

Great Video!!! God is helping me Learn Through Great People like you God Bless you Sir.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great video learned a lot. Thanks!
Excellent video, extremely helpful. Thanks!
Great Video!
Thanks for sharing. You explained the process very clearly. I m replacing our white cast iron sink with a used stainless sink I bought. The sink even came with a faucet. The stainless is in very good condition. But the sink has a bow and it came with only one rusted clip. None of the clips I bought would work. I finally found the exact clips on Amazon and currently waiting for them to arrive. So I’m hoping with plumbers paddy and tightening the clips down the sink will lay flush over the counter.
This video is going to save me a lot of money.
Thank you this video was very helpful
Great video! Thanks!
❤🎉Happy Thanksgivings! First time in life to replace a new sink by myself with my husband work together after we watched your clip 10 -20 times. Then we finally started to work on during holiday break. After a deep breath, I took out first pipe under kitchen sink. Feeling cool!
Thanks! I'm about to do this.

Great video. I like your style! Will be tackling this project tomorrow. Your techniques and tips are very helpful. We live in the country with septic system and composting...so no garbage disposal to deal with. Thankfully.

Haha I was thinking the same thing! I’ve had the new sink since sept but still havent found a faucet I like.
I am so happy I decided to consult you tube before I got any further than I have. My cold water pipe was leaking into my my kitchen causing the linoleum to buckle. The workers are replacing the floors. It's as good a time as any to replace the ugly 1980's sink and plastic faucet. I was going to get an el cheapo sink but now I'm going to rethink this and go with a better grade, making sure the sink is the same depth as the old one. I'm also going to let someone who knows what they are doing rather than having my 80+ yo husband attempt it.
excellent video!
Very simple instructions.
Excellent presentation.
great video, very professional.
Great video! Thank you
Good work
