Coming back to this video to say thanks Bill. I finally swapped over the mixer tap in my kitchen with the new tap i bought two years ago :) it was a real squeeze to get in there, they installed a sliding bin under the sink, but I knew what i was supposed to do and so managed to get it installed and working. It's really satisfying to DIY. Now I'm gonna have a go at my shower screen. It's not QUITE hall of shame, yet :)

This is an excellent video! Thank you for explaining everything properly and not just assuming we know all the little things that for some (like me) aren't so obvious. Also your attention to make sure you actually show everything on camera (for example the back attachment brackets) even though it would have been that little bit of an extra pain for you is really appreciated! Thank you ❤️❤️

I'm about to install a sink and panicked slightly as it didn't have double sided tape and I don't have any on hand but I do have some clear silicone. That trick with the water was awesome too because I was going to rig something up with some timber, nuts, washers and threaded rod to apply even pressure from the top. This just saved me some time and money. Cheers Bill!

  • @billshowto

For laminate, either circular saw or jigsaw but they will both make a mess from the saw dust 👍👍👍

The tape is single sided because its just a seal, it doesnt secure the sink, the brackets (or screws as you do it do that)

U shouldn’t need tube spanners for this job. Remove the sink with the tap in place. Then remove the tap. Then install the tap to sink before u fit the sink. Or even better, buy a brand new tap for around $50-$100. Re using the old tap is like buying a new car with second hand tyres lol
