I’m just installing a black cartridge and the colour one is empty. Do i need to have a colour cartridge installed as well for the printer to work? I keep getting the blinking orange light (4times) telling me that the cartridge is incorrectly installed.

No I only replaced the black ink. It has plenty in the color cartridge. I usually use the black ink. If I replace the color ink as well and it works. it’ll be wasteful and expensive for me. I’ll try it tonight. Thank you so much for your response.

You bet, yeah, sometime the color ink (especially the cartridge from 3rd manufacturer) can cause that issue.

Once think could cause the yellow blinking issue is the network configuration is incorrect. Did you change the wifi password or router recently?

Question: can this work with 243 black ink or not?

Which side does the black and white cartridge go into, elft or right ( when upside down). Why didn;t he say that ? He pointed in the middle !

I’m not sure why he had to flip it over because it’s just as easy to change it when right side up. It got a little confusing which way to put it in when he did that.

I have it on my mac with the name is Inspiration Music Background 1.

I replaced mine but when I plug it back back in the light did not light up

Yes,you can.I have this printer model for a couple of years.I changed the inked before for this basic printer both colors and black cartridges like 2-3 times already.I don’t knows why,he is turning the printer off-on a couple of times also why he turning the printer upside down either.Changing the inks cartridges for this printer is very simple.Just turn the printer on and than just squeeze the little nock lack down and pull the ink cartridge door open.The ink cartridges will automatically sliding right to the middle of the printer.Just squeeze the inked cartridges and pulling it down to take out the old inked cartridges and do the reverse to put in new inks cartridges into it that it.Maybe his printer automatically sliding bar have some kinds of intermittent problems?

Did you replace the color cartridge ink as well? I found this issue when my black ink is good but color ink is out (empty) then event I chose to print in black (or grayscale) the yellow light still show.

Some people reported same issue with me after they replace the ink from 3rd party (not Canon cartridge original or certified ink). Can you tell me where you got the black & color ink from? Also, did you recently change the home network setting (i.e. change Wi-Fi password or SSID/name)?

It won't stay in the middle, it keeps moving after I turn it off. It'll be in the middle, then I turn it off, then it will move to one side, then to the other and stop so I can't get to it. How do I fix this?

It depends on the setting/configuration from the software (pdf, words...) where you print as well. For me it is about 150-200 pages (not finest prints setting)

You don't need to turn it upside down or take paper out.

yeah I dont get that whole turn the printer upside down bit. Even Canon's instructions are fairly straightforward... it literally took me less than 3 minutes to change mine out just by quickly reading their instructions online to refresh my memory. I dont get all the trauma people are having and they just dont simply read.

Do we have to fill ink in the cartridge?I'm new to this i don't anything about it

are you still here? I got this printer second hand but unused. I had to buy the ink. I only bought and installed the black ink. now my light keeps blinking 4 times.. do I have to buy and install colour now too?

The yellow light keeps blinking every 5 times. How do I fix that?

hint: go to canon and read the info about the little yellow light. it's telling you something but you need to find it yourself lol Learn how to research and find your answers.

Can you press the stop button on the printer, turn off it completely, turn on again to see it the ink cartridge is moving. You should here a weird sound if the cartridge get stuck

You don’t have to turn the printer upside down!

its not hiding if you simply follow instructions. turn on your printer, open the door, the cartridges automatically move right to center. push down pull out. Slide new cartridge in close door, print. Please also people dont turn your printer over lol

In my opinion, you guys make a change on the point of view of the camera at 2.57 minutes to make people replay multiple time your video. How sad.

Honestly i don't understand how to install it still The guy in the video is shoving the cartage in the printer its dark i and too fast i didn't understand the instructions
