This video shows how to install a new heater blower motor in your 2004-2010 BMW X3. The blower motor, and typically integrated fan, is responsible for blowing the heated or cooled air from your heat or AC system into the cabin of your vehicle. A fan could become noisy if it is broken, or could stop spinning all together.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

the hardest part of the job is reconnecting the new plug to the existing harness. Key thing to note about the car-side connector is that it’s able to slide forward and backward along a small plastic track. If too far forward, you don’t have enough space to flex the motor-side connector’s locking ears. You have to back up the car-side connector far enough to fit the motor-side connector with its locking ears expanded into the tight space you’re going to be working in. Wish i took more photos, but maybe TRQ can release a video covering that part more in depth. Hope that’s helpful to someone
Nicely done. I have done one on an E36 ('98 328i) and there was so little clearance it was a real pain. My 2010 X3 blower motor has been chirping for a while now and I've been dreading this job. You showed how (relatively) easy it is on E83's and I'm actually looking forward to doing it now! Thanks!
Definitely test the motor once clipped in given the amount of parts that need to go back together.

Just did this job. Toughest part is the electrical connector. Off and On. Had to use a pick tool to hold the vehicle side connector from the back as I pushed the motor connector side on. Tried without and pushed the vehicle side plug off the holder. PITA. My advice, get a small pick set to get this done. Also the replacement motor I got had more plastic surround parts than needed. Probably for an E46 or something. Just take that stuff off.
Great video my DIY went smooth I even changed the resistor still nothing. I changed what I believe the only fuse F50 40A andddd nothing Hellllp!!

Hi. I am bmw x3 2020 owner. I am experiencing problems with heater blower. The flap for the windshield blower doesn't seem to work. My question to you is, how many heater blowers does bmw x3 GO1 2020 have. Is there one in the middle of dashboard and one behind the glove box? Or is there only one, in the glove box for this particular model? I am patiently waiting for your answer. By the way, really enjoyed your videos. Thanks Davor
2005 X3 3.0i how many fuses for blower motor? Is F50 40A the only one?
I’m in trouble. I accidentally broke the plastic fastener that holds the small male end in place behind the blower. Now, it moves around when I try to reinstall it… impossible! Any advice? Does the entire housing unit come out so I can get to it… Why does BMW use so much plastic and why is this wire so dam short?
