How To Replace Front Wheel Hub Bearing Assembly 99-06 Silverado, Sierra, Suburban... 6 Lug

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today on Classics Are Better, I am replacing the wheel bearings & hub assembly on my 2006 Chevy Silverado, though it should be approximately the same job for a 99-06 Silverado, Sierra, Suburban, Tahoe etc, essentially most of the early 2000's 1500 class GM 6 lug set ups.
I will go over how I discovered that my hub was failing, and how I go about removing the braking system and old hub and then installing a new one. As a disclaimer, I am not a professional mechanic, so just use this video as a guide, not specific instructions on how to accomplish the task on your vehicle. I take no responsibility for your actions or your project. I just aim to show that these jobs aren't as scary as they may seem to some people and that in the end it's really just nuts and bolts, be safe and use your brain and you should be able to knock this out.
Please click that like and subscribe for a car guy if you got any value from this video as that's the only way KZread let's small channels like mine grown. Get out there and get wrenching my friends, keep them on the road!!

Thanks for watching Scott, honestly man I am unsure if there is a difference between a Burb and a Truck on this, haven't done it on a Burb. If you have had to do it three times, you may want to look into a beefier aftermarket unit, spending a bit more stinks, but then dont ever touch it again lol.

Great video! I just did mine this past week. Exactly the same as you showed, except I had no washer behind the hub nut? Mine is a 99, and the hubs have been replaced before. What are the odds that the last installer left the washers off?

So I haven't specifically worked on a 99 to know for sure, but I would guess they had just left the washer off when getting it together.

Mine seemed fine afterwards, I didn't mess with the A-Arms or Tie rods.

Nice video. Going to be replacing mine soon. How have the Amazon parts held up for you thus far. I think I’m going to order mine from Amazon

Yep it has held up just fine, long as you get that correct part number I think they are all made the same then rebranded. I actually just had to do the driver side on that truck last week and ordered the same one I used in the video for passenger side. Can't beat 50 bucks, just remember to get new hub bolts, don't reuse the old ones. Best of luck on your project!!

Thank you for watching, think it took me 3-4 hours to do it all, but I was also going slower than normal since I had to film it and shuffle cameras etc.
