New Sway Bar Link Set from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASSL00056
Sway bar links connect the sway bar (stabilizer bar) to other suspension components. They have a movable joint that can be damaged or wear out over time. When that happens, the joints get loose, and rattle. This video shows you how to install new TRQ sway bar links on your 1988-2002 GMC K1500.

Beautiful truck, but that's some serious chassis rust - I feel better about mine now. My links were rusted solid and I cut them with a sawzall. I need to get an air chisel. Thanks for good instructions and saying the slot in bar bushing goes to the back.

I recently repaired my 1996 GMC Yukon and found that the stabilizer link bushings were difficult. It would have been much easier to reinstall with the bolt flipped around as your video depicted but I found that the upper swaybar did not have much clearance and I was concerned the swaybar would contact the bolt threads on bumpy roads. I replaced the assembly with the bolt in the down position. Thanks for the video. Sorry for my late comment.

My sway bar is sitting directly on top of my new sway bar links giving me zero clearance, and now I've stripped out my sway bar bracket bolt trying to adjust it all, this is very, very, very frustrating I don't know what I have wrong.

Doesnit matter which way the bolt goes ? Up through the lower control arm or down through the bar ? If that makes sense

After doing it I can say I think it doesn’t matter. When I pulled the original end links off it was bolt going down and nut at the top. But when I put it back together I did bolt going up and nut on top since it was easier for my situation. Haven’t had any problems

I know the feeling. Just bought a 97 Z71 from my uncle a couple days ago and the steering has a bit of play in it so while I was doing an oil change I looked around underneath and seen the passenger side one of these was just dangling there snapped off.

Dude, the manual says to torque the end links only once the vehicle is at the correct ride height and the wheels are holding the vehicle. So this is wrong.

Pain in the ass! In order to get the bottom nut on, you need to compress it with a bar, or have an extra pair of hands. The thread just barely clears the inside bottom a arm.
