New Control Arm with Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASLF00423
This video shows you how to install a front lower control arm with ball joint on your 2004-2006 Scion xB. Control arms are a crucial part of the suspension system of your vehicle. They not only carry the load of the vehicle to the wheel, but they typically also maintain its alignment. Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, or integrated ball joints that require replacing the entire arm when they wear.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2004 Scion xB
2005 Scion xB
2006 Scion xB

This is probably the best how-to video I've ever seen. Every step is explained clearly and are in the correct order. No shortcuts are used nor are there any unnecessary steps taken. The attention to detail is great right down to supplying the torque values for the fasteners. I'm in the middle of replacing front struts, lower control arms, and sway bar links on a friends 06' Xb and since I've been retired for 12 years or so I thought I'd watch a video to see if I'd forgotten anything and happily I hadn't. If this is what you need to do on your Xb, look no farther than this video, I guarantee you won't find a better one.
I just want to say that your video is off the chain... You make it simple to understand and easy step by Stapf videos. Again Thank you
I really like your videos. SO informative! Clear, easy to understand narration, great camera work, great resolution, easy to follow step-by-step instruction. You are my GO-TO when working on my xB! You have some bad ass tools to be breaking all those rusty fasteners! I am looking for a video for front camber bolts for the xB. Hoping you do one soon, as i need to get some installed on mine. I know TRQ sells them because they are the ones I ordered lol. Anyway, again, thank you for the great vids!!!
Beautiful video, and the way you talk, and clearly
Where can I get that torque wrench? And...will this video work well with a 2001 Toyota ECHO? i CANT FIND A VIDEO FOR IT BUT MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE 04-06 Scion XB is essentially the same. And thank you! Your videos are amazing and thorough!!!
Great teaching ❤❤
great videos. Thank you. Mines a 2004 with a manual transmission and I'm struggling to get the passenger side front mounting bolt out past the oil pan. I tried jacking up the engine like you showed but the car starts to come off the jack stands with about 1/4" to go to clear lip of the oil pan. Any tips?
Good video bro 👍🏻😎
Hello friend 🫡 thank you for r&r the lower control arm . How can I get all torque spacifications. I thank you & wish you good luck 🫠🫡👍✌👏 💚 🤍 🦁 ❤
1st time I've received TRQ. Recognized your voice. Saw your partners & recognized all of u. Very good video/thorough! Fluid Film those suspension parts & sand that damn wheel. 😅😂🤣 Nice rotor/parts & all that rust. PS. 👍'd & sub'd.
The sway bark link ,it would've been better if the tread were pointing down, cz when driving a bumper road the upper platform will hit the thread,
Wow I'm so glad my xb isn't that rusty
How do you know if you need to replace the lower control Arm?
Thanks!
Do you think is good idea to grease the bolts?
What's the Jack name i mean the one has green metal on top??
you're missing a big bolt that holds the cross member to the frame / unibody. lol
I feel like rusty demonstrations solidify the wtf part of fixing things
I just want to know whose been neglecting that poor toaster?
Can i jack up engine same way on a 2012 scion xb???
