Good instructions. Reminder: Before installing the new cv assembly, remember remove the old spacer on the outer shaft and install onto the new shaft

I just replaced the driver's cv axel in our 08 Grand Caravan and it was easy as 1,2, 4. If you follow the instructions in this video it will work out perfectly. My advice is to soak the nuts and bolts with penetrant the night before. That made it much easier to remove. Also, be careful not to bend the brake rotor splash guard like I did and have to bend it back. Also clean all mating surfaces well and apply anti-sieze or lubricant as needed.

At 1:47 you pulled the axle spacer off of the old CV shaft, but you did not replace it on the new CV shaft. This is an important part of you don't want a small "knock" in the front end. I learned the hard way not knowing one goes there, because the person who changed it last also left it out. Knock ensued...

Hi, When putting the new Axle in the hub, I didn't see the thin metal washer that installs between the hub and Axle, does the washer need to be there? I forgot to install mine. Your help is appreciated.

Excellent video! I was having trouble seating the drive shaft in the transaxle-thought I had to twist and push until it went all the way in. Didn’t realize you could “bonk”?it with a rubber hammer! Thanks for the help! PS Since fluid usually leaks out when you pull the drive shaft, why not change your transaxle fluid when you change a drive shaft? My first tranny lasted 200k miles with fluid change every 60k

Wish my 2 Front Axle Replacement was going as smooth as this! Got both Axles coming today from 1A Auto.Mine is a 2008 Dodge Caravan,& is a little diff from this Video.First off,it has OVER 400,000 Miles on it! So the Bolts are Practically GROWN to the VEHICLE!.The Driver Side Axle Busted at Sleeve near wheel,Bearings Fell OUT! Finally got it all oose & Axle most was out.(Waiting for NEW ONE before proceeding).But the tie rod will NOT BUDGE! Tried method here,Penetrate Beating down with Block wood on top,etc.Growed together,siezed up!

Awesome video, you make it look so easy but I am not gonna try doing it myself. Will take my 2016 to a mechanic.

Doing my 2013 caravan today. Going to go by your video here. The only thing I noticed is that in other videos, transmission fluid leaks out when you pull out the axles, none came out when you pulled the act salute. I’m assuming it’s because this transaxle was low on fluid? I’m hoping I don’t need to catch bucket.

Excellent video. When I installed a new axle, the inner boot got squeezed when tighten the nut on the hub. Could you please advice me how to fix that? Is it ok to leave it like that?

Any recommendations for a grinding noise coming from transmission when I accelerate hard

When reinstalling the cv axle, when you're bringing it through the back of the knuckle into the bearing, do the male splines of the axle come out flush with the front of the bearing?? I've replaced my cv axle joint soon to be five times this year alone. I've replaced the struts, control arm, bushings, ball joint, outer tie rod, sway bar bushings, end link, wheel hub & bearing, knuckle and now all the motor mounts!!! What is left?? I also dropped the trans pan (no shavings or fragments, magnet was clean) changed the fluid and the filter. I am still getting the clicking noise in reverse and sometimes when turning the wheel when in drive. ANY insight would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Do you have any recommendations for an axle that is totally stuck in the hub?

Hello, can you tell, if this operation is the same as in Pacifica 2016-2020?

What are the exact names for these parts because stores where im from dont seem to know anything about car parts. My car is leaking transmission fluid from the axle seal I believe

Is there an axle seal on the passenger side as well? I've watched both your videos on either side and you do not mention anything about an axle seal on the passenger side.

I had about half a quarter of transmission fluid come out when replacing axle. Was it over filled or do I need to add fluid.

I also had about 1/2 quart or so leak out, I just checked the fluid with engine running and in neutral and added more.

Does anyone know if this would be similar to a 2013 Chrysler 300?

Wow i always thought the axel was the the main piece avross the botton for both wheels

Would this be the same on a grand caravan?

It's all good if you are about to attempt this. He kinda leaves out how to get the two bolts back in under tension. Ya just gotta improvise I guess

Anyone else notice that at 3:40 in the video the strut was either replaced or painted shiny black within that 1 second time frame? lol. Thanks for the video. I may undertake replacing my leaking shaft seal, the only bummer after saving 100's in labor to install a $4 seal, I have to get a re-alignment?

Yes, very cool! Notice the printing on the tire is backwards, and the nuts appear to be left hand threads. :)

2009 Dodge Grand Caravan CV axle is recessed into the transmission. You can't jusr pry it out. Do an instructional video on it.

Replacing transmission and this is the only thing stopping me lol

the torque should be 65 + 90 degree turn, i am sure u just forgot about it because i can tell u are good.

Id like to see that too. It's a little different, the CV axle doesn't go directly into the transmission.

You do realize that you did not have to pull the bolts from the strut. It would have saved you an alignment. Time and money. What were you thinking?

Mine has no place to place the pry bar or will come out and I'm pulling hard on it and wedging stuff anywhere to take it out and it won't. Love my stupid ass luck

You cant impact a fastener and then use a tq wrench. That negates the tq wrench.

No need to remove ball joint,beginner job

I’m guessing that was from his strut replacing video. A lot of the footage was the same, but he replaced the strut. Both videos were good.
