Fairly good video. As others have pointed out. The one BIG thing missing is "to make sure the 4 inch rod from behind the key to the new lock, is placed in the spot for it as you are putting in the new lock. Otherwise the actual key will NOT do anything. These are very hard to get the rod in the right spot, but vital for the key to work.

Have to say I watched the video twice, had my door fixed in 18 minutes. Knowing where everything was and what needed to be unplugged was priceless. Saved me so much on a repair I did myself. Thanks again

Thanks for the video! Saved me a ton of money. Just like one of the other commenters, I ran into the issue that I could not get my key to manually turn and lock and unlock the door. If this happens to you, there is a rod coming straight back from where the key goes in, and it has to fit into the top of the new unit you're installing. It took 20 minutes of me moving it around and shimmying it in from different angles before I finally got it to fit properly. Definitely make sure your key can lock or unlock it. If not, when the battery is dead you're SOL.

Great video. Taking the time to point our the color of the wires, etc. made it so much more useful. Found the part on Ebay (couldn't find anywhere else) and was able to make it work. Would highly recommend getting something resembling the 'pick' used in the video to remove the wiring (and don't start the project without a socket set like I did). I actually never fully removed the door panel because I could never get the left-most clump of wires undone.

Ran into an issue getting the rod in the proper placement to go back into the area with the yellow clip. The metal rod has to be on the other side of the window railing when putting the new unit back in (behind the railing). If the rod is on the same side as the electronics (in front of the railing) it pushes against the rail and doesn't allow enough movement to clip in. I was doing this out in the sunlight so maybe in a shop with proper lighting it would be more obvious, but it took me a bit to figure out the trouble.

This happened to me too and after thinking about it, it makes sense, but wasn't obvious at first.

Great video, and responses. Now... if you could only find and purchase the item from the website! There should be a direct link for the actuator. Tried to use every word possible to describe the item, nothing recognized.

+TheRonaldbaxter We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
